Don't discourage them, instead try the other way around.

nr 1: looks like a chain lightning, so I'm assuming hitting multiple targets at once
nr 2: entalge of some sort, stun with DoT damage looks like it
nr 3: deflection or immunity of attacks for a short amount of time?

am I even close? :O

Looking at price of Sirius ancient ships I'm sure that Tau Ceti ships will be extremely overpriced.
I'm 99% that this will happen:
- Sirius Parsec-class ships will be much cheaper to convert to Tau Ceti, cost of Tau Ceti ships will be little cheaper than cost of entire Sirius Parsec ship so most of people won't even think about buying Tau Ceti ships.
- Because of above, devs will try to make Tau Ceti ships worth even looking at so they will do two things:
-- new ships will have superior armor to Parsecs.
-- new items will be extremely powerful and available only to Tau Ceti ships. There will be no balance at all.
This will be Myst vs Domi and Puni vs Parsec Storm after Sirius release(before changes) all over again. After many years and after people will buy TC ships and leave their parsecs having "No item added" in all 8 slots, devs will "rebalance" armor so Parsecs will be good again.

Remember what devs are doing in next update:
-Make old TC missions available again, basically zero effort.
-New story missions will continue from old TC missions so it means that "story" will reuse old content and story is being made only for one planet so they won't create many missions.
-Create "white missions", it's copy-paste job.
-Add new ships and BPs, basically 90% of effort is done by graphic designer team, so new mechanics will be only these few new BPs for Tau Ceti ships.
-Opening the rest of Venar, it means creating only half of the map, it's done by map makers and graphic designers


Do you remember how long it took to create Sol after Mizar? Sol was probably the biggest and most complex system ever created in PG(no, Sirius isn't complex, it's copy-paste fest with rand() functions everywhere designed to stop players from beating it fast). And Sol was fun. Now, we have waited few years for:
Half of planet with only first parts of BPs. Story that is based on missions created already few years ago. Some new ships that will be overpriced.
And that's all. Maybe TC will be finished before year 2030.

Draconis was the beginning of downfall, being as difficult as possible and impossible without membership(Hive missions), forcing players to use inferior ships for half of the story(Gazica) and having insane prices for equipment. Ring 1 of Sirius is much easier than Hive. However this didn't stop players from beating it fast when it was released before next system release.
So they created Sirius, copy-paste fest based on random functions designed to keep players from beating it fast. Sirius creation was a proof already in that time that devs will abandon the game. No story, boring planets, reused content on all rings but 5th. If all of this didn't happen and devs didn't abandon the game, we would be preparing for ~12th fun system already.

Currently devs are doing one of the following:
-creating all this "content"(showing us one ship each news, now these 3 icons, lol) on the fly using smallest resources possible and spend 98% of the rest of their time on other games. They don't want to care about PG.
-releasing all this "content"(ship arts, skill icons) one at time to keep people teased. Part 1 of Tau Ceti(reusing old content) is already created but they don't want to release it that fast. They want to make people teased so they pay for memberships and keep playing all that time. They don't care about creating something fun but to milk as much money from players from creating smallest content possible.
-genuinely they are doing everything what they can do. If this is true then it's better to forget about this game because all future content will take years for them to do.

When devs are having their "vacations" I was playing space game where devs released new ships, made events for getting real money currency for free, were adding new ship items, rebalanced few things, gave insane discounts on New Years Eve. Also, after new ship release they created an event to get this ship as fast as possible just by logging in into the game(only during the event). And that game is considered P2W. Now compare PG to that.

Resume of things said

The releasing in parts system
  • Tau Ceti will be released in parts so we can enjoy the update while splitscreen continue's with the next update.
  • Tau ceti part 1 will contain a completely accessible and reworked Venar.
  • The Tau Ceti content will be similar to the Sol system.
  • Each parts will unlock a new Tier/Set of items/Ship the player can aquire.

Storymissions
  • Storymissions in part 1 will only take place on venar and do not require you to travel back to lower systems
  • Ability to replay existing Tau Ceti episode 1 & 2 as the start of the storyline of Tau Ceti
  • Story missions that continue from episode 2

Enemies
  • There will be new enemys to play against that require new tactics and offer new gameplay mechanics.

Shipclasses
  • Hybrid regular classes like in sirius but different items sets?(not the standard storm, shock, tank, engi)
  • the new ships will have 8 item slots, 4 regular and 4 unique items
  • Multiple rare ships to be found (like defender in draco and sniper in sol) in the first part only a few of their new items will be available
  • New armor available for Prototype ships
  • Tau Ceti ships wont be able to enter Sirius
  • One new ship will use the strength of his opponent for his own benefits
  • Other new ship will be efficient with multiple allies and foes closeby
  • Each part will feature their own new ships

Items
  • Only normal items with their rare gold variants (no longer strong or long).
  • Gold variants are not planned for part 1.
  • Introduction of blueprint dependency mechanism, requires you to have sertain bps from sirius before you can install the Tau Ceti tech.
  • Each part will feature their own sets of bps
  • The max level will reflect the new Equipment the player can get and raises with the release of the parts.


Concquest and challanges
  • No conquest planete planned for part 1 (in one of the later parts yes)
  • No challange planete in part 1 (in one of the later parts yes)

Release date part 1
  • First quarter of 2018, so end march as final date (planned date, could be delayed)

Question:

You said there wont be gold bps in part 1, does this mean the new ships will all be blue bps?

Defender in draco used to be a gold bp.

Will we be able to get all items for the new ships in part 1, or will we be flying with partly finished ships with open slots?

Will the new items of the new ships get blue variants, or will they only be found as a rare/gold bp?

The quests in Tau Ceti will be either balanced for full squads, small squads or for solo. Just like in previous systems.

Yes in the Part 1 of Tau Ceti there will be 3 new skills where one of each of these skills will be used by the new TC ships. The rest of the skills will be existing skills from known classes.

There will be plenty of new enemies you will encounter that will as well use the new skills against you ^^.

Thanks for your topic summary Flyfighter.

1. Yes thats correct. The new ships in part 1 will be blue blueprints. The the new classes (4 new skills) will be rare ships that will come in on a later TC part.

2. You will be able to outfit all ships you unlock in Tau Ceti Part 1 as well as existing ships from previous systems.

3. Its not planned to have variants like they are acquirable in Sirius.

Hey, all looks good sofar, nice! :)

Was wondering after the new rare classes are released, will they also ever come in Parsec version?

Oh wow, so highway we can assume that the new ships that will be in the part 1 will be like hybrids ships with one new component and random skills and we will have added to this the normal class ships?( i mean, we will have the hybrids ships with one new skill each one, so 3 new hybrids, and the normal classes: defender, sniper, storm, engineer, shock and tank?) This will be good hehehe. Im really excited to see more info or images about it. Dont make us wait more :D

Im guessing the chain lightning is the class more efficient with more allies and foes nearby and i think the deflecter skill is the class that uses the opponent's strength as an advantage. Got no clue what the other skill is. ;)

I think chain lightning will be op in clans pvp like conquests, think about it, 5-6 with chains can explode a lot of ships with a single skill. But i love this type of skills ^^ just we need see the stats

Will there be the main basic classes in the first Part of Tau ceti?
+im guessing one of the complety new classes is the assassin.

jajajaaj now it turns out that they are not 2 parts no? there are 4? jajajaajajaja that little embarrassment you have programmers who do not know how to do their work that is what I think because with the previous new systems were put into a single update or parts and nothing and then worked in the following system but I see little desire to work in that company or do not know how to work I'm stunned just to read what you are doing. I say goodbye to the game because? because this game has come to an end for people like you and now you go and I deleted the post that he blows it at me.

Hey all..
So as far I know, we need to have some ancient bps to get new Tau ceti bps, I was told that we just need sirius ancient blueprints.
Do we need all 3 variants of each bp (example rapid, strong and normal blaster) or even 1 type of sir ancient bp is enough ? :confused:

Hey Highway, this is a question that me and many other are people are very curious of. Back then in early 2010, it took about 6-8 months to release a full system of Draconis. However, the part that is really disappointing me is that the working pace today is much slower than it used to be. For example, from the beginning of 2016 all of you have started doing the work trying to get tau ceti completed perfectly though doing small updates before the main update. Think about it, just these small updates took a year and 3 quarters. The PvP Overhaul took round about 4-5 months and that's nearly a full time it would take to release a full system a while back. You said to all of us that the PvP overhaul update is complex but obviously it couldn't be as complex as a whole system!

You also mentioned to us that the tau ceti update is planned to be released into four parts/stages and you said that it will be ready in the end of the first quarter of 2018. That is round about March 15th-March 30th which is close to taking 6 months from October. If it keeps taking this long then tau ceti could potentially be released in 2019! Obviously back then it never took quite a while to only release a system but my main question is why does it take such a ridiculous amount of time to release an update compared to before? We all know that all of you have potential to do much better than that with the speed (just like in the early days of PG) but why not anymore?

The new Tau ceti creations look decent, amazing but they're new and it shouldn't take such a long time to make.
Sol system didn't take long to make as it is taking now. It would be nice if you could at least give us a reason why it is taking such a long a time. You told us that all of you are full force on pirate galaxy so there's no reason to be much slower than before.

I'm going to tell you. First, the programmers are not the same as then, those of now do not seem to want to work wasted all the money earned with pirate galaxy in the dino storm that is worthless and so? nothing that game is a total failure and now without money and without desire because you can already imagine because it is taking so long and while taking the money from the contributor to the pocket simply that way but this game has 2 rounds left.
