I too am sorry the prior thread was locked. I have have said nothing about any player cheating and I have not gotten off the original topic.

There are rules and guidelines of play that are established and publicized by Split Screen to set parameters for players.

This is necessary in any game (or business) and I don’t believe anyone would disagree. SS has published such rules in the COC, with regards to player actions and interactions with other players. SS has also published rules and guidelines in the “Golden Advice for new players” section; and the “Announcements” section of the Forum specifically explains, for instance, the Loot System. In that post, Sayyadin specifically explains the way bp’s are dropped and the process a player must take in order to acquire new tech.
My question is exactly the same with regards to the WS system.

Adrana, you shared in the last post that there is an established system and that any abuse of that system could get a player in trouble. You went so far as to say that there was an obvious bug in the game and a report needed to be made, which you did as well as Jim. But, how can we know we are violating the WS system if we are not told what the system is? Or, how can we put in a bug report if we do not know the system to recognize the bug?
Currently, if a player was to pop a mantas 40 ranks below that players lvl and if they were to receive 100 WS points for the kill, that should be OK, since there are no published rules or guidelines to identify that event as a bug or mistake. If that player did that 100 times, how could they be held responsible by SS since there are no bench-marks to follow? Perhaps the high WS is a planned event?

It has been suggested that we find out WS on our own, “just…piece it together.” OK, based on this suggestion, if I find a mantas that gives 100 WS per kill--that is simply the game standard that I have found, there are no guidelines or rules to tell me different. No one should be able to say anything about it—they simply have not “pieced it together” for themselves.

This line of reasoning is false and problematic. It has been suggested that it would give an unfair advantage to “know” the WS system, this makes no sense. There is no unfair advantage from knowing the rules unless the rules are kept secret.

Adrana, if you will not tell us the WS system, rules and guidelines, could you at least tell us why this is such a secret? Is the intention to increase game play? Ok, good. Is it to spur on exploration and WS discovery? Fine. I am simply asking, it seems strange that this is so esoteric a topic that it is surrounded by such mystery and silence.

Peace,

well said Preacher. I also think it's is nessesary to know how the WS is supposed to work so we can folow the rules without breaking any laws.

First off there is no such thing as rules for war score, unless its an exploit. The few who know how to grind for the warscore knows this. I know for a fact I can grind over 30k warscore in 5 hours... if I wanted to!

But you are my competition... and I want give out my stratagy as well as anyone else will give it to you.

Somewhere in a game someone has to have the knowledge to keep ahead in a game of stratagy. There is no cheating as Astraeus and Hefesto will tell you along with other GM's who have watched us.

Whats sad is it's something you developed your own self in the past that we improved it and now you cant figure it out... tisk tisk...

Adrana,

It is unfortunate that some players insist on getting off topic and attacking other players in this post. As you can tell, I am staying on topic and not engaging other players in any negative fashion in this post or the last.

I am maintaining my original question and hope you will disregard any diversion from that topic.

Thank you,

I don't believe this post is about how one is gaining there WS. It is only to find out what the limits of WS are based on player level,Tech and system and nothing else. If one wants to take it beyond the set perimeters then that is there choice. It would be nice to know what the set limits are based on player level, tech and system. I discovered a bug in the system and now am curious what the system is to start with.

Sigh. Enough nonsense from certain pilots please?

Okay. Here's how to determin warscore for yourself. I'm sure there is a magic formula imposed by SplitScreen, but I don't know what it is.

WHILE YOU ARE ON THE SURFACE -
Open the ladder and press the ladder ranking tab.
Select your division and press it.
Then open any other division.
For example: I'm in Division 4. I open Div 4. Then I open group 5. While group 5 is open I press the button indicated by a circle which is My Position. This will switch me back to Division 4 and show my ranking within the group.

Now the warscore is real time and will change as you shoot mantis - as long as you keep the box open.
Shoot something. You will see your warscore change. Now you can determin what that mantis is worth for warscore FOR YOU. I believe it is determined by your level and the level mantis that you are shooting.

For instance my mate is rank 66 shooting with his Sol storm on the moon. He gets 8 points of war score for shooting rank 53 mantis. My rank is 80 shooting on moon in a Drak sniper. I get 7 points when shooting identical mantis.

Note: This represents one person shooting and killing one mantis. If someone else shoots the same mantis as you shoot, the warscore is shared between them. What weird and wonderful formula governs who gets how much; I have not been able to figure out.

Good luck and be nice!

Well, perhaps you are right about that, or perhaps not...

But how is it that another mate who is rank 59 and gets 9 points of war score for shooting the same rank 53 mantis on the moon? War score appears to be related to rank or tech - otherwise R80, R66 and R59 would all get the same ws for the same mantis.

I don't mind sharing information to make the game enjoyable for all. It IS a game after all. In order to "compete" with others - the playing field should be level - otherwise it is NOT a competion, is it?

Let's have fun instead of chanting, "I know something you don't know." Look at how generous Bala was with the information HE learned about Sirius and how to make the final ring.

None of us would have gotten as far as we all have without other wonderful experienced pilots sharing information they learned. Thanks guys!

CtFunnyGirl,

Thanks much. This is the kind of constructive, well thought input that moves the discussion forward.

Your numbers mirror my own and a few other pilots of various ranks, who have short-tested their WS in Sol and Drac. There is a correspondence between the the rank of player and mantas, but also a correspondence between the tech on each ship and the system. This is known, if not understood, by a arbitrary reduction in the cryo drop chance based on ship tech (presented in %). So, we know there is a correlation between tech level and cry drop, but this appears to be arbitrary at best.

I have asked a great number of pilots who have expressed a desire to know what SS will apparently not say: If WS (like cry drop chance) is based on tech level, or player lvl, or lvl -vs- lvl, what rule or guidelines determine this.

Again, thank you for the input. I agree completely with you, "experienced pilots sharing" includes your example in this post. Since this is a technical question and I have presented it to SS in a respectful and thoughtful manner, I was convinced that SS would rise to the occasion and answer/enter in to dialogue about it, sadly I was wrong. I keep hoping for some semblance of the "good old days" of Deloda and common respect, but perhaps like him, they are truly gone.

Peace,

First i think there is more than 1 formulae for WS. #1 governing tech lvl xWS. #2 / by players level. #3 adding some WS based on tech lvl - players lvl. I will use simple made up numbers in this thread. Also note these are my theories, you may disagree or it could be incorrect.

#1 - player tech lvl x grossWS
this formulae(directly proportionate) say the difference between tech is like: sub-standard = 1 standard = 2. gross WS is based on mantis's lvl. on kalabesh a lvl 1 drone drops 1 WS.

1 x 1 = 1- is F1

#2 - F1/ players lvl. If the player is lvl 1 then /1.

(1 x 1) / 1 = 1 - is F1 with F2.

#3 - F1 with F2 + player tech lvl - player lvl. i have gone over these 2 stats already.

(1 x 1) / 1 + (1 - 1) = 1WS - the master formula.

G(T/2)/P+((T/2)-P) = Net WS
T = Tech lvl, always the highest tech lvl.
G = gross mantis WS.
P = player level.

However in PG numbers and values are a lot more complicated. and tech lvls are only 50% of there value.

Tips:
#1 lower the level higher the warscore
#2 get higher level tech, do no mater what your level.
#3 hit the highest lvl of mantis you can

This formulae proves that higher tech has more WS but is massivly reduced by your lvl.
Always lower lvls can achieve more WS.

I peronally don't believe there's any secret to warscore...war score just means that you have the time and patience to grind and kill harvs for a long period of time. I have proven many time that warscore means nothing, I'm on division 6 or lower and i can out pvp, out do missions and make any player in devision 1 look like noobs. Just look at our "supposedly" top pilot with 20 something skulls, even in this parsec i can easly take him out in my r70 storm. So warscore means nothing.

lol, isn't preacherman simply asking what's against CoC and what isn't for warscore? That is what you're asking right, or did I read it wrong?

I think pritty much anything goes in terms of warscore but if memory serves me correctly a little while ago a big fuss was caused because people were getting lots of warscore points from Story missions or something right? and for what ever reason that seems to have been considered against CoC, though personally I found that a little childish ^.^
