Okay,

I took a little look over the new C.O.C. 2.0 and have a little opinion to offer. The section regarding clan-jumping for CQ's does not seem to properly address the topic. The rule does not allow clan-jumping for CQ's at all. This is not fair to the smaller clans, nor conducive to the alliance environment.

Clan-jumping between clans within the same alliance should be allowed. On numerous occaissions in the past we have allowed allied players to jump into our clan so that they may fly our CQ Ship, and/or sent one of our players into an allied clan to fly their CQ Ship. Many of the smaller clans will not be able to easily afford buying a CQ Ship and may not have the opportunity to fly one unless allowed to fly an allied clans CQ Ship. Often smaller clans within the alliance sign up for a CQ and due to not enough of their members available to fly their CQ Ship, they ask an allied player to jump into their clan to fly their ship for the CQ.

Come to think of it, why be in an alliance if you cannot share resources? I'm not talking about half the clan jumping from one clan to the next, or jumping from alliance to alliance. I am talking about using the resources within the alliance to benefit the alliance during a CQ. Such a rule negatively impacts the use of an alliance system. An alliance in game is similar to an alliance in real life. You do not think our military moves allied personnel around as necessary to benefit their alliance? Of course they do! And, regardless of the player move into the other allied clan, the player would still be an elligible to participate in the CQ.

Now, in regards to clan-jumping between alliances; that's just plain cheating. If you want to double your forces just before a CQ and use the players from an adversary alliance to increase your player count for a CQ and then retrurn them to their original alliance subsequent to the CQ, you should consider yourself suffering a lack of ethics. Players from adversary alliance clans jumping into another adversary alliance clan is simply wrong. I think I need to pay more attention to who I have the pleasure of playing against during CQ's from now on.

Now, I have one other problem with the way this rule sets out. On numerous occaissions we have considered kicking one of our allied clans rform the alliance and filling it with a handful of players from the other allied clans so that we could do a little trianing PVP activity. On numerous occaissions when the alliance does not have an adversary scheduled for a CQ, we may still want to play the CQ. Granted it would be difficult to kick the other clan quickly enough to get through the CQ registration process properly, but we enjoy our CQ battles, and if the rest of the alliances cant muster themselves to participate in the game, we should be allowed to play the game without them. As a matter of fact, I believe any CQ that an alliance does not have a registered enemy, the registered alliance should be allowed to bring their own to play against. But, this option not available until the registration period expired. Frankly, it stinks putting together an alliance that wants to play, but doesn't get to play because the other alliances don't want to play.

Therfore, I request this ruling be modified to the extent that it allows those of us that want to play all the features of the game, without having to depend on other alliances and not subjected to unethical conduct by other alliaces, be permitted.

Thank You,

Well most alliance dont allow all of their clan members to have planets or have a chance to gather gravitrons. But in any case,k clan jumping has been going on for over a year that I can remember. Why is it all of a sudden a problem?

Now there is a clan achievement called "Lone Wolf"... if you take the time to read it. It states that in order to get this achievement you must complete 10 cq's without an alliance. Thats what the Developers put in. But now with the NEW COC on CQ.... thats not going to be achieved due to people complaining.

But the thing I have a problem with... if its wrong to jump from clan to another alliance or clan for CQ's. Then isnt it also wrong to jump out of your clan to allow someone in your clan to take you out of red?... Cause your 1 - Its goes towards ship Achievement... 2 - Passing of bounty (which Astraeus has said thats Bounty banking) and 3 - that could be and can be considered eploiting for achievements.

So as you can see the new rule can bring out alot of things now, that should be changed. Unless of caurse this is a way to single out certain things to cater to certain clans control for the over all game.... Interesting.

i dont think there doing this because easy achievements, I think its because when its you clan jumping between 2 clans that you enter in the cq, you always win the draw if another clan signs because you have less allies, so it picks you. I think there doing this so people dont get all the gravitons.

Well first off i think this added rule is a bit ridiculous. This game has always had players jumping from clan to clan to do CQ's so said players could have a little fun which that's the point of this game is to have fun. It's getting to the point that rule changes after rule changes is only serving to take the the fun out of the game and that is sad.

Now i have problem with the CoC changing and you have no idea it was changed be some don't even come to the forms. And when i do if you look at where the CoC is it does not show anything that would prompt you to take a look at it. no one going to read the coc daily.

And if there is a No clan jumping for CQ then there no jumping and that includes between allies but we know it will once again get changed to fit certain clans.

enclosing thanks for taken for fum out of the game.

Don't really see what the big deal with this new rule is. If you want smaller clans to be able to do CQs, then ally with them. It did not say that you cannot ally with them to help out, just that you cannot clan hop. The idea is to make CQs fair, whether or not this will actually change anything is debatable. Even as it is no one really does this to gain an advantage for a CQ unless it is some practice done on another server that I do not know about. From what I have seen it has only been used between allies for achievements or just some fun.

As for this rule technically also covering jumping out of clan for getting out of red, it has absolutely nothing to do with that. This says for the purposes of doing a conquest. Passing bounty to a clan member is also NOT bounty banking. Bounty banking would be passing your bounty to someone who logs off for the rest of the week, then Sunday night/Monday morning logs back on so you can take the bounty back. As long as the player that takes the bounty is active both in game and in clan, it is not a bank (definition from Astraeus).

So what would it be...If a person was holding the bounty, sat in orbit and never landed except only to take the bounty from their clan mates. That is all they would do for the week. They wouldnt grind nor do missions. They would just sit somewhere and wait to take it from their clanmates. Then come close to score reset they have for example 24,000 worth of bounty.... Now if they never land how would you be able to take the bounty?

Now the rules say if you follow them around its considered harrassment and stalking. So now they fly off and meet who ever the clan mate is to pass the bounty, and they just sit in orbit and never land. What would that be called?.... cause to me thats bounty banking. Cause bounty banking is where you take the bounty out of play and keeps others from getting it.... whether its logging off for a week or sitting in orbit only to land to take bounty from clan mates....is still bounty banking.

I'm a little confused how this thread changed from a concern about the CoC and new rule regarding clan jumping to bounty banking. I would suggest that you create a new post regarding bounty banking if you want to discuss, it sounds like others may have opinions to offer, but its buried here.

So, if you don't mind, I'm going round up that stray cow and send it back to the herd... YEE HAAA Git along little doggie....

I too share my concern about two issues brought up in this thread. First, I too, have noticed that the CoC does get revised without notifying the players. A rule which could get people banned from the game was implemented and pilots - in their ignorance - can lose their accounts. This is very distressing to me and I am not even in a clan that attends CQs. Now you can be banned for something that previously did not even merit a warning and was an accepted practice. Hey, I'm not saying that it was right, but it was not forbidden.

When my kids play a game and want to change how it's played they shout... NEW RULES! and everybody abides by them.

Certainly if a revision is made to a document it should be notated somewhere that the document has changed. We agree to abide by the rules here. But we have to know what they are. I like most people, learn the rules to a game and play it. I don't keep going back to the rules - because I know what they are - so I and many others were ignorant of the change until this post.

I would like to suggest that if the CoC is revised an News & Announcent post is made.... Or the date of the revision is noted in the CoC post subject.

My second concern is that there's a lot of kids here and I see spats all the time in chat. They go from being buddies to, "I hate you Stupidhead!" They leave their clan and join someone else. Two hours later, guess what? They're back in and buddies again. I just don't see how this rule can be enforced without some people losing their accounts without merit. Please rethink this new rule or at least the punishments involved.

(Edited stupid spelling error)

In regards to alliances, hopping between alliances is ridiculous, those who do it are well known to the clan leaders.
In other news, Askone and Solaria are both dominated (for the most part) by a single alliance. No wonder people hop alliances! Its one alliance v the scattered masses. No contest! ^^ ^^ ^^
And WRichards, I remember when you were starting up in solaria, you guys recruited everyone you could. You owned every cq planet out there. I have not kept track of solaria politics, but i think its safe to say that it is almost the same thing nowadays.
Asking for people to fight against is laughable. Just have a huge disagreement, split the alliance, and bang! its *fair* again....and you guys arent so bored.
Happy Hunting!

Mered4,

I'm sorry you think so poorly of me, but you have not yet taken the time to get to know me. Your evaluation of S.O.B.'s actions on Solaria Server is not well researched as you would find quite the opposite be true.
