Hello,
Next to my personal disappointment I would like to bring under your attention some arguments I picked up from players.
The players I spoke to are mainly adults that spend I lot off money on this game.
The down-side(s) off only the squad-based playing :
You need a proper squad or even more players to do anything in this system at the moment. To achieve anything you want a squad off people you can work with. Those players or not online the same time all the time. it proves to be hard to find a squad off players you want to do things with. Simply because the (paying) player also has a job and needs to work to earn the money to put in this game. Some work shifts. that means on a lot off occasions you will not be able to play this game at all in Sirius. Even paying won't help, because you simply cannot master the mantis alone.
Squad based is fine. But now, i want a squad with players with strong ships and membership and a BP booster. All off them. because the BP booster is not working when only one in squad has it. Especially problematic because the drop rate is so low and the amount off parts you need is so big.
A lot off the players i refer to now come online and want to do just some stuff for their selves. like grind for a gold BP, or do a white mission or grind for cryo. A pass time for relaxing. That is not enjoyable in this system. You cannot do anything bye yourself.
When you log on, and there is no or only a few players on the specific planet you are. It is impossible to get anything done. Even if you would like to shoot for those few BP's that you can find on that specific planet. Just think it through, with that many planets, even when this system is kept as it is, the players will get spread out over like 10 or 15 planets. Since you can only jump to the planets that are explored, you might not even be able to jump to the planet where your friends from other clans are.
Conclusion : Squad based play or missions is ok, but their should be things you can do alone. there should be mantis you can shoot by yourself, just so also solo players can enjoy this game on the maybe odd times they get on here.
The downside of the Jumpship system:
I spoke to a guy in raidcall that plays with his wife and son. They did loads off stuff together in the past. They pay a lot off money in this game. Their son is in a different clan. They cannot reach the planet he is on now. So, what now to do? Wait for the jumpship to go to the right planet? Hey bye that time the planet might have collapsed.
For myself, I have some friends in other clans. I like playing with them occasionally. They are on a different planet now. No way to get there. I find myself floating in orbit, going nowhere.
The jumpship is a very expensive floating hangar. Somehow the clan needs to cough up loads off cryo, gravitons and quarks to keep this alive. Some clans, maybe even our own, have not the grinding power to keep this alive. What happens when it vaporizes and there is no new ship? A whole clan can't reach Sirius no more.
Another thing to consider: What happens if the admiral just decides to stop playing? The whole clan is wiped out, including jumpship and funds. The whole lot. What do we have to do then? Find another clan?
Conclusion: The jumpship system is bad and may even prove to be a dangerous bottleneck for many players (or splitscreen for that matters) . You can get into a clan that might prove to be a dead end when an admiral stops playing or decides not to pay for a jumpship anymore.
Picking clan members with a membership:
Now, in the new system, you want to be in a group off people that can afford to play with membership and boosters. I already pointed out that I would pick a squad with people that i trust to share the very little loot the mantis drop. And a squad with paying members that have all boosters running. To prevent my own booster going to waste.
In this system i think there will come clans that simply demand membership if u want to take part in action on Sirius. Now I can live with that. I never had a problem with paying for this hobby.
Splitscreen is a company and they have to and should make money. But this new system will discriminate non paying members soon.
Even discriminating is not that much of a problem. But a problem is that at the moment my money gets me nowhere. I cannot get what i need for my ships, it's not on the planet where i am, there is no squad that i can or want to fly with.
Conclusion: This system will drive away non paying players fast and is not delivering for the players that are paying.
These are only a few arguments. You can find a lot more on the German server where the growing list off complaints gives a good idea of the opinion on this new system from die-hard players. i have seen some famous names off people that we all have seen around in this game a long time.
Since the game in Sirius has become next to unplayable for me, i have no other option then to stop going there.
I will wait a little in Draconis doing stuff i still need to do. Hopefully things get sorted.
And if you, Splitscreen and developers, are not gonna change this thing, then please explain to us players / customers why it has to be like this. Just some explanation about what you expect us to do in or with this new system or some hints on how to play this, would be nice and decent.
So far, the only answer i got in public chat from your employee 'Astareus', is that my comments on the new system is only my opinion. Well, go online and check for yourself. I think my opinion is shared by a huge percentage off players. So that answer seemed to me very silly.
Thank you
