What if you could upgrade your shock into something else? What if you could make your tank more effective at the job you want it to do?
I think that there is one answer to them, ship specialization. A lot of games have it, a class that can turn in something else to for fill a new job.
I don't want it to be like that, PG should stay PG and PG needs it's own rules for speciallizations.
First, the requirements:
In vega, you get all new ships and weapons. It would be very bad to specialize your ship here you choose a class already. The place I think you should be able to specialize should be Mizar. Why? Because in mizar the game gets more serious and you finally have all 8 weapons.
How do you specialize your ship?
I think you should be able to buy Specialization Packs in the hangar. These are unlocked after you bought deluvian armor and are free, however. You can only choose one. They both got a name and tell what they do normally, but have an ? button to see what it does exactly.
Second, what types of specializations?
== Shock ==
Lets start on the shock as I know that one the best:
I tought of 3 types of specializations, but these can be outbalanced and I would like the opinions of others.
* Bounty Hunter Specialization
Bounty Hunters hunt for a single target, they often work solo and are capable of killing one target easily. But the bounty hunter is bad at a group of enemies.
Solo Stunner
- Stun Charge works longer
- Stun Charge is cheaper in energy
- Stun Charge reloads faster
- Stun Dome stuns less enemies
- Stun Dome uses more energy
- Aggrobeacon only taunts one ship
- Aggrobeacon reloads faster
- Aggrobeacon dissapears faster
- Aggrobeacon uses less energy
- No Change in armor or range
* Shock Engineer Specialization
Shock Engineers are the best support you can have in battle. Thanks to this, your friends will be buffed very well and you can stay at the background.
Acts as Support or Stunner
- Blaster range increased to rocket range
- Stun Charge and Stun Dome range increased
- Aggrobeacon taunting range increased
- Aggrobeacon Health increased
- Armor weakened to sniper health
- Speed Actuator only works on friends, but 1.5 times as effective
- Speed Actuator only uses 1/3 of your energy and 2/3 of target's energy
- You receive experience for an enemy that has been stunned by you and killed buy someone else. (Engineer principal)
* Crowd-Controller Specialization
The Crowd Controller is the exact opposite of the bounty hunter. While the bounty hunter has only 1 target, the Crowd-Controller is great at fighting groups of enemies.
Can act as Group Stunner or Solo Stunner
- Stun Charge has a chance of stunning ships that are close to your target
- Stun Charge does a little bit of damage
- Stun Dome does a little bit of damage
- Aggrobeacon has increased health
- Aggrobeacon has increased taunting range
- Aggrobeacon can change location if you scan the beacon
- Aggrobeacon uses 2 times as much energy
- Speed Actuator reduces energy usage of the blaster and makes it even faster
- Increased armor to storm's armor
== Storm ==
I also had 3 ideas for the storm, but I got much less specialization for it, please post your ideas. Anyways the specializations:
* Front-Fighter Specialization
Fights in the front of squadrons, it receives a lot of damage, but deals even more. It has small tanking abilities, but is mainly focused on dealing damage in short range
Can act as Solo or Tank or Damage Dealer
- Decreased range on all items
- Increased armor
- Reload on repair droid goes faster
- Rocket hits more often

As the Front-Fighters fight in the front of armies the Sniper-Storms deal damage much further away from the target to reduce damage done on the ship.

- Decreased armor to shock armor
- Aim Computer works better

The Fire Engineer is a support version of the storm, the ship can give their allies a buff trough which they can fight very well.

- Decreased Armor
- Aim Computer and Perforator only use 1/3 of your energy. 2/3 of allies energy

These tanks are medics with armor. They fight in the back and protect their allies. Instead of being able to use shields on themselfs, there shields can only be used on allies.

- Taunt can be used on mantis to make another mantis attack him

- Slower reload on Repair Target
- Materializer has become a buff
- When nearly dieing, Materializer can be used which will materialize your ship when destroyed.

- 1 Droid has low health but blaster
- Attack Droids last longer
- Attack Droids have repair droid that is activated by scanning them
- Sniper has even lower armor

- Orbital Strike does less damage
