Dear Space Pirates,

We are once again at Draconis info update time! Today I will introduce to you the new Pirate Mode 2.0 and bounty system which will be implemented with Draconis update.

Pirate Mode 2.0 and bounty system

Now When clicking on the skull, Pirate Mode is activated instantly with no timer but beware as it can no longer be switched off until you are killed by another pirate!

If you kill another player who is also in pirate mode, you will receive war points based on the damage you inflict on your foe but it is also tallied as bounty. Needless to say, the more pilots you kill, the higher the bounty war points are placed on your head.

The higher the pilots bounty, the higher up in the bounty list he is listed. If a pilot is killed, he is automatically removed form the bounty list and your bounty is reset.

If multiple bounty hunters fight against the same target and wins, the bounty is split amongst the winners depending on effort.

The bounty of will be reset at the end of every week.

Bounty Side Panel Tab

If a pilot is in pirate mode, his name will be displayed in the new bounties tab in the orbit side panel. This tab will also show all pirate moded players along with their bounty and current planet the are on. Only pirates in your current system will be detailed.

Noob killers beware! You now have price on your head! You can run but you can't hide!

i have one question about PM 2.0...what about if you enter a conquest? i mean, naturally, when it's over, you'll want to turn pirate mode off, how are we supposed to do that without becoming a pod? lol

I say KEEP UM RED! If you don't want to PvP, you shouldn't be at a conquest anyways. :devilish:

Fire, the requirement to turn it off is pod or be podded. if u never fulfill these requirements in a conquest, then shame on you.

you missed my point completely....i am talking about when the conquest ends and you haven't been podded yet, or if you get defeated right off, how are you supposed to turn the thing off

Well it sounds like it to me. Pirate Mode will stay on AFTER the cq's until you are podded. The only problem with that is if your bounty is high, several players will team up to fight against you so that their Bounty scores go up. At the end of the day, it'll all be about bragging rights, but I'm guessing that the one who finishes with the biggest bounty at the end of the week will be someone who teamed up with others to reach that score, and NOT someone who has got the score solo.

And if you get what im going to do right, im going with the theory that GMs/FMs/SS Staff can read minds

but, PM 2.0 does sound pretty exciting now i think of it....i assume that bounty is cryonite and not XP points right? or is it both?

i have one question:
is there something like a "Bounty-Hunter-Mode", where you don't get bounty for attacking pirates, but just can attack pirates, which have bounty, and just that ones, who have a ship in the same system or above systems?
That would be great for bounty-hunting, even if you can't disable your pirate-mode until you are podded.

It's clear that you may defend yourself, if a guy in a ship from a lower system than yours attacks you, but you can't shoot first, if you do, the mode would be disabled immediately.
That's my idea for it, but i hope there's already such a thing.

That idea does not make sense to me... You basically want the entire point of the new system to not exist? >_> Here, if you attack someone, you get bounty, but if I do, I wont! :D

it's probably just gonna be ganged or get ganged
this system doesn't make sense
you want ppl to pvp each other and this way only the high lvl players in a full rare ship will turn on pm
ok it's better if you get ganged so you can take them back but it also has a lot of downsides
this will turn pvp from skill to whoever brings to most players

Also, even when you gang up against someone, it still shows in your profile that YOU took out that pirate, so some players will use that to brag about taking out a player with a high bounty.

I wish they'd give us a Cryo Bounty System where folks can put Cryo Bounties on the bad boys so folks like me who dont usally pod "noobs" busy while getting a nice little reward at the end. Remeber war score means nothing cuss its reset like every 7 er so Days.
