There are tactics that can be used with orbital strike. It's not a fast firing overkill weapon, try to figure out its purpose and you will find it rewarding. But you are right about the power of it, its a little off and we are working on it. Increasing power in the orbital strike is not a simple as inputting a higher number. It's a composite weapon which has many variable. People have said that the sniper ship was overpowered and from the conquests that i have played on PTR, it performs exceptionally well when controlled by experienced player.
I point to other games and movies because weapons should loosely follow the expected norms since that what people would expect. Technically the sniper ship should be low HP, low armour, long range, high powered, long recharge. If we follow the expected norms completely, but we haven't because of balance.
Games need balance to be fun not have uber overpowered "kill everything" ships that just make things too easy and challangeless. Also means that player skill doesn't improve.
We are fixing the bugs. It takes time. You make it sound that fixing bugs is easy as writing a forum post! Bugs have to reproduced, tracked, coded, tested, recoded, tested again to see if it creates more bugs.. the list goes on and on. And its the coding parts that take a long time and if you look at it long enough.. it enough to make you weep in despair!

That is why we ask people to write proper bug reports for us with information how to reproduce bugs so we can track them saving time.
We don't a million coders working the game we are doing the best we can.
