Sure, no problem. Just mention it's a best-effort estimate, not guaranteed. And that it is valid at the moment but SS can re-balance things any time and (presumably) without notice.

Yeah, I just copied what you had there and linked to your site, (if it's allowed).

Yes RetroRage, the Rare Ships have +25% armor.
I tested it again last weekend. And the most accurate way to do that is burning a non-rare and rare ship (same armor grade, same class) with the Thermoblaster, coz it doesnt have damage fluctuations.
And i tested it on most classes, the rare Antares Shock, rare Gemini Engi, rare Mizar Storm, etc.. always exactly +25%

And hey, would you really believe a rare Ship to be equal to a common one? ;)
so why do splitscreen lie so much then cos they told me and alot of others that the rare ships was just for looks, anyway i tested as you did and didnt really see any difference so dont know how you got such a big step as 25%, 25% in being a quater more hp than the normal one

I do not know about such past statement by SS. Maybe it used to be less than it is nowadays.
Just a side note to how one arrives at the 25% more armor and repeat it today for yourself:
I pick a MST-X (rare Mizar Storm) and burn it once with the Mizar Thermo.
I scan the ship and will read 38% damage.
(If I burn it twice and calculate back to 1 burn, I can even find the damage is 37.7%)
Damage is counted internally very accurately but no digits after the comma are displayed, for the player it's always rounded up: a 1.1% becomes 2%, a 1.9% becomes 2% and so on
Now I take the MST-FF1 (Mizar Storm) and burn it once with the Mizar Thermo.
After scanning the damage will read 48%. (burning twice for more accuracy will give you 47.2%)
Now, to compare both armors we take 47.2/37.7=1.25 or 125%, i.e. the MST has 25% more armor.
Do the same for the GC-X and GC-3, AnIn-X Shock and AnIn-B20, or AnIn-X Tank and AnIn-2000 Tank. It really works out. Of course choose suitable Thermobalsters not tto crush the ship. Until you do the maths it may not look like a quarter more HP by the naked eye. After all 38% and 48% are both very close to the upper gap between the 1st big block and 2nd smaller block.

The same method will give you +10% for the TR-Ships and +20% for the Parsec class over the META-Ships.
Hope that helps

I will try to recalculate that

38% Damage = 62% Health
47% Damage = 53% Health

53% / 53 = 1%
1% x 100 = 100%

62% / 53 = 1,17%
1,17% x 100 = 117%

Rare armor is 17% better.

1,17% x 100 = 117%

I'm afraid your calculation doesn't work this way round, for following simple reason:
As we all will agree the armor ratio must remain the same no matter whether i burn the ship once or twice.
So if I burn it twice and the damages become 75.4% for the MST-X and 94.4% for the MST-FF1, my calculation still gives 94.4/75.4=1.25

Your way however will contradict itself:
MST-X health = 100-75.4=24.6%
MST-FF1 health = 100-94.4=5.6%
Armor Ratio = 24.6/5.6=4.39 or 439%.
So you imply the Rare Armor jumped up from +17% to +339% only because we burnt that ship a 2nd time?

Worse still, you will get a "Division by Zero" with ur calculation if you choose the right Thermoblaster that damages the MST-FF1 to exactly 100% and the MST-X to 80%, coz u'd take 20% health/0% health.. Armor ratio now infinity ...not good

It really is +25% I'm afraid..

And if you still don't trust me calculate it the long way:
If 1 Thermo damages the MST-X by 37.7%, I need 1/.377 = 2.65x Thermos to use up all its armor.
If 1 Thermo damages the MST-FF1 by 47.2%, I need 1/.472 = 2.12x Thermos to use up all its armor.

So if the Rare withstands 2.65 Thermos while the non-Rare only handles 2.11 Thermos, the Rare is stronger by:
2.65/2.12 = 1.25 (+25%)

Hope that helps

well, I may have the answer; as u all know the dev get new things at the game and remove old stuff or update things, and maybe hey did think-> make this stronger nah make this stronger and make this weaker and so on.
and for me for each update the cry drop get's lower -.-

The Developers do generally not get involved in any of the player communitie's speculations, estimations and quantifications of any of the game's aspects. As an example, take the big Vega overhaul. After this all blueprint drop locations (among others) posted onto PG fansites or the forum were trash. Did Splitscreen point anything out or help us rectify our efforts? Why should they. I dont't blame them, I understand them. The same goes for statistics like this [weapon power]. It's our very own choice trying to document game parameters, not Splitscreen's. The game runs with and without our knowlegde (even better without it). Things can and will change all the time. It's not in their interest to get involved in our findings at all, it'd only make their lives harder.

A shut mouth catches no flies ;)

yeah, that info has to be secret. But what would be better if a new system comes that they tell us which name the blueprints has and how much they cost.

who said rare ships have more hp???? i asked splitscreen many times if the rare ships have more hp aka normal mizar strom vs the rare mizar storm and they told me many times that the rare ships just look different no extra hp/armor this was also tested many time in mizar rare vs normal and shot for shot it had the same hp/armor so dont know where the rares have 25% extra hp comes from
-are you shure that you don´t confuse the "rare" tournament prize winning ships with the real rare ships?;) -everything comming from a goldprint are the best, (or should be;) -and i lift my heatshield for the great work of V1 hyper too:)
