Currently, clans can track their CVC winrates in the clan window, but individual pilots have no way to showcase their OTB performance.
An official winrate would act as a badge of honor.

Furthermore, an OTB winrate would benefit and encourage teamwork. This is because it can be confusing to newer players to know whose calls to listen to when contradicting calls are made. An OTB winrate would allow players to focus on the calls made by players who consistently play well and ignore those made by players who would rather chase the enemy to depleted areas when it's more beneficial to collect. In cases where the players giving the calls have similar winrates, you would be able to look at the amount of OTB's participated in in order to determine who is likely to have more experience.

At present, CVC winrate is the only indication of PvP skill, but CVC winrates reveal very little about an individuals OTB performance as the strong pilots are concentrated in the same clans.
In OTB, team A & B have, on average, similar amounts of strong and weak players & the result isn't obvious before the CQ concludes.

The introduction of an OTB winrate would also provide veteran pilots with a strong reason to log in and participate consistently.

If PG ever implements skill-based matchmaking, a tracking mechanic like OTB winrate would provide the data needed to balance the randomly sorted teams more effectively.

Would an OTB winrate be toxic? The opposite is just as likely. At present players can troll, sabotage and mislead their own team without any form of punishment whenever they want their friends on the opposite team to win. If an OTB Winrate was implemented, toxic players who "throw" the game would have more reason to play well as consistent sabotage would reduce their OTB winrate to the point where other players know to avoid their calls in favor of listening to someone else.
The player would still be able to chase enemies to depleted areas instead of collecting, but their ability to drag the team down with them would be limited, paving the way for more competetive and skilled gameplay.

Let me know what you think. Do you also believe OTB winrate would make every CQ victory feel more rewarding than 3 gravitons?

I agree that it would be great to have individual player metrics related to OTB, but that’s mostly just for the sake of knowing, because it doesn't actually tell you who is performing well or poorly. In reality, it depends largely on luck and ship composition, and the fact that it’s always a specific group of players trying to secure the win

At Aurora, we track metrics ourselves—such as wins, losses, which ships are used most in specific planets or systems, and AFK, for instance, the image shows an OTB result from the 15th of this month; among the winners, there are many with a win rate above 50% who don't even know the basics of how to play, this isn't a reliable way to tell who plays well and who doesn't

OTB winrate would mean nothing since player selection is random.
One day it's balanced and another day you get on a team where people take stupid decisions over and over. Do you really wanna pay by a score visible for everyone for a streak of bad luck?

To that you add that not everyone has every ships and blueprint and the ship selection is only at the start of the CQ.

If PG ever implements skill-based matchmaking, a tracking mechanic like OTB winrate would provide the data needed to balance the randomly sorted teams more effectively.
And at the end teams will always be with the same people, according to a Trantor player, when the OTB selection was managed by players, they made a system with a script that determined the team by a score for individual players, at the end team A and B were always the same.

Claiming that "OTB winrate would mean nothing since player selection is random." is the same as saying that it makes absolutely no difference whether or not you play well, which is simply false. Your team is more likely to win if you play well regardless of what team you are placed on. Blaming the loss on your team is pure cope.
Many games use matchmaking systems where you play with random people against random people and still allow the player to track their winrate.

They use matchmaking based on wins, losses, and points earned during matches for damage, support, kills, and assists; Pirate Galaxy has none of that, that’s why thinking the win rate indicates who plays well and who plays poorly is completely wrong

You said it yourself, more likely, and a good player in a team that accomplish nothing won't win either, is that fair for the player that performed well to get a lose on his stats because his randomly selected teammates have negative survival instincts? Now invert with a bad player in a good team that win, would it be fair too?

Idiots exist, and sometimes you will play with them.

Individual games will always produce "unfair" statistical outcomes, but the law of large numbers is the equalizer. Over 100 games, a consistently good player will climb because they are the one constant factor in all of their matches, while the bad player will eventually fall.
