P.S. In my opinion pre-TC3 EiU was more difficult than Calon is now (refer to the hp cut of enemy units that came with the TC3 update)
Even if this may now be a bit offtopic i assume the main reason that TC3 Units (Calon in this situation) had to receive an HP cut rather then an HP increase considering that we still have no access to the best Armor (Deluv for TC and Final TC for Parsec/RDX) yet. I guess that the last armor will come with TC4 so i assume that the TC4 units will get an big HP Buff again and feel then like EiU units again even with Top/Gold tech at this point.
Calon Units are more like Glass-Canons that can deal a lot of damage but also go down relatively fast to balance this part out.
Why? Try to smite Moon and Earth Harvester with Rare Sol Sniper or Rare Storm Class/Parsec
You will see how strong you are
Now try this with Calon tech on Venar.. Hard as beep but it's possible
There is one major difference between Moon/Earth Harvs and Venar Harvs... and this is that Moon/Earth Harvs have way less crap around them that can deal damage then the Venar Harvs. 1st Harv Spot has Rocketeers and Repos along with a Mender, 2nd Spot has Signors + Repos + Mender and 3rd Spot has Endurer + Repo + Mender at Venar.
For Moon the Harv spots are mostly seperated so that you have not really to deal with any crap and for Earth you may have some crap (Rocketeers + 1 Stun Turr for 1st and 2nd Harv Spot and Asassins for the 3rd Harv Spot and Sigos for the 4th Harv Spot.)
So comparing this differences is a bit hard cus for that you would need to have the exact same combinations cus in Venar you can hardly rest and if things go really nuts you just can run away and hope not to run into anything else that then pods you while at Moon/Earth you can "wait for your RD to be rdy again if needed"
I wonder if this reduction in % HP also applies to enemy ships.. if not, it would be very unfair
Why should they decrease the AIs HP just because the MT receives a nerf? The MT is not an damage creating item it only is some sort of stationary "Dome" but without the CD debuff + if you are in a battle using AoE attacks you will have the aggro of the unit anyways.
The MT is more meant to either stop an enemy from geting away while you chase him or stop an enemy so that you can escape (if the enemy has no QL that is) and buys you the time you need to get away.
