PG has indeed lost its soul. When I first joined, 25 August 2009, it was...magnificent. It was so easy to play, it had a brilliant story, and there often massive battles between players. I can't tell you how much adrenaline pumped through me during those scraps, and let me tell you: it was gaming perfection.
Then things started changing. Cryonite drop rates were fiddled with, the CQ system turned into an abomination, and then PM just went kerblooey.
What happened to the 30+ people scrapping for the hell of it without fear of consequences of having to stay PM?
What happened to the wide-eyed inventiveness of the story instead of a reworked Vega story awkwardly tacked on to mesh with Sol, but not Antares, Gemini and Mizar?
What happened to a CQ system that wasn't horrifically stunted, complicated and unfair?
And what the HELL happened to the ability to play the game without being harassed by advertisements, promotions, offers, discounts, and sales every goddamn minute?
What happened to the original Vega 2, with it's beautifully massive, wide-open desert plains, instead of the cramped-up, constricting planet of Kalabesh (that might I point out, is new players first view of gameplay of PG) it was turned into?
What happened to players being rewarded for becoming powerful and able to gain easy cryonite doing white missions in a much more powerful ship?
Most importantly, soaring far above all other reasons, as this thread asks...WHAT HAPPENED TO THE FUN?!?!
Splitscreen Studios, now I address you directly, especially your CEO and senior developers. Put things back the way they were, in the glory days of this game, or at least allow us the joy of the old, perfectly functioning PM. Reverse the atrocious new control system, and give us back the perfectly good old one. Stop ceaselessly trying to squeeze money out of us, Gamigo manage to keep the game almost ad-free, before you guys turned it into a money-making engine.
Listen to your critics. Give Pirate Galaxy its soul back.
I agree, sometimes they make the greatest updates ever and you hope that it will continue, but then you get slapped in the face by the most worse updates ever...passenger8 said:-i just have to agree with you folks. -i am totally confused and disappointed by the weird and greasy behavior from the developers too.
MONEY MONEY MONEY lets make more the old players it doesnt matter so much as we can get lots more new ones?????? maybe maybe not .I agree with what you are sayingbala said:Hello there.
When i first joined the game
-it had CQs where you could dive just to be poded, for FUN.
-You could grind for a day and have a fully equiped ship.
-Next day you could have some fun killing REDs somewhere for FUN.
-Then you could show of your mightiness for some noobs entering their squad and helping in some missions
-You could have 200 buddies
-If you don't wanna waist time on grinding, you could BUY ships.
and it was FUN, ppl were happy, well there was always someone whining for loosing their gold BPs...
NOW:
-I have to GRIND cryonites 571.000Crystals to get 1 draconis ship, with full BLUE upgrades
-If i POD i loose what i take 15 min to GRIND, and that not counting on E harvesting
-I have to GRIND for some 8 hours to have a full Blue BP
So...in total, and counting with the poor drop rate/vallue of crystals in Draconis system(average 3K/hour).
===> I'll have to grind for 8 hours x 8 BPs = 64 hours to have all the blue BPs, that will also give me 192K of crystals (3K/hour) (if i don't POD)
571-192K=379K
Now i go to the lower system and get some AWESOME 5K/Hour while grinding...what means 379/5=76hours
That means 140 hours just to have a decent ship with TOP Blue BPs...
If i play 2-3 hours everyday, that means: 140/2,5=56 Days!!!
Thats almoust 2 MONTHS to have a fully NON RARE ship!!!
So i ask you: ARE YOU MAD?!?! How do you expect us to have fun? Even if we pay...![]()
on pg they are not open to critisism and if they keep ignoring the players they loose us, on SL they do listen for some reason, but only highway or atleast he is the only one that actually speaks to the players.Firebrand1 said:well said nano. i used to think SplitScreen was different then other game developers, but now i see i was wrong...
