ok, so i've been working on this idea in my head fo some time. Its a multiplayer co-operative ship. Wait, come back!
so, imagine your in a squad. the leader of the squad has this new ship, the sol/draconis collabrator. the rest of the squad click on this ship to leave thier ship and control a part of this one. for example, the owner of the ship is the pilot, he can do do nothing but fly and manouver it, and direct the other guys where to shoot, etc. the next to guys to join are in contol of a gun each, on either side of the craft. the last two are in charge of special weapons (thermoblasts, aggrobombs and so on) and repairing the ship when needed. the ship, having five crewmen instead of the usual one, would have to be pretty darn big to reflect this (and cost about 100k maybe?). this ship would be ideal for story missions i reckon, as the whole squad would be in one place. also, the ship itself would be very hard to kill, but the mantis could target the guns and special weapons, so the repair teams would try to keep them running.

phew. so, theres my epic idea for a special sol or draconis ship. i think it would be cool to have this addition to the ranks, it would add more variety. also, you wouldnt always need 5 people to fly the thing, the less people control it, the more things they have to take care of thats all.
feedback me, people!!

Let's have a new class of ships from the Draconis system, the "Capital Ships" class. Each of those ships are something like rares, only they are normal and can be bought from the ship without getting any BPs. These ships would cost three times the cost of the other normal ships in the system, but would have two times the armour and three times the health :) They would have, let's say, five pilot seats. If all pilot seats are filled, these are the items there are available:

1st. Pilot seat
-Blaster
-Collector
-Afterburner

2nd. Left Gunner
-Blaster
-Rockets
-Sniper blaster
-Attackbuff/Aim Computer

3rd. Right Gunner
-Blaster
-Rockets
-Sniper blaster
-Attackbuff/Aim Computer

4th. Tactical/Top Gunner
-Blaster
-Rockets
-Orbital strike
-Aggrobomb/Aggrobeacon
-Speed actuator

5th. Engineering Deck
-Repairbot
-Shield/Protector
-Armour generator (adds %30 to armor, but regeneraters very slowly and speed of items is halved, so speed actuators from tactical would be a good idea)
-Afterburner
-Energy generator (generates energy but slows down items on ship until the energy generation cycle is complete)
-Materializer

If you have the person who owns the ship buddied/allied/from clan, you could click on his ship and "Enter it". When you do that, if the owner approves, you have a menu with five buttons representing each seat in the ship. Seats that are taked will be grayed-out.

Once you join a ship, your energy is combined with the energy of all other pilots, so you get one supermassive energy charge. The Engineering Deck could also generate Energy for the ship, but I don't know how you would get your energy back when you leave the ship? Maybe e/n where n = number of pilots on ship?

Our game designer actually thought about this last year. But the technical difficulty is immense with the way that PG was developed so it was shelved. Would have been awesome to be honest! :(

Back to the original idea of one big uber ship thingy. I like it, a lot, but instead of having to leave your ship maybe your ship latched on to the side of the ubership and you control it, just a thought.

This was proposed by Brogie, on the old forum.
