Don't try and persuade me to change my opinion. This is a feedback forum, and I'm giving feedback on my experience in the game. So enough with this "oh c'mon, we thought it was fun, and so should you, so stop complaining" nonsense.
And my experience with this event has been quite a negative one.
FalconWar:
...this mission is possible to do solo, even in vega is it possible, you just have to figure out how to do it solo, it takes me about 30 min to do 1 of these egg missions solo, but still it's possible.
And you think I just had not bothered to try to solo it? I don't know if you have a membership or booster, or what. Even with a graviton I couldn't solo the mission. Since the event is over, why don't one of you guys claiming it can be solo'ed please go ahead and detail exactly how you managed it. Otherwise, please stop saying unsubstantiated things. And no, using a glitch (happenstance that it is) in the mission is not a reasonable answer.
FalconWar:
...an bad luck for them who did't manage to get all ships, that's how game is.
Um. Not really.
There is not a single thing like this in the rest of the game. If I fail to join a group doing behemoth, I can always do it later. If I don't rare hunt today, I can always do it next week. For this event there were two weeks. Then never again. No one will ever have another chance to get those ships, which for you were apparently so easy to get. I've had to make peace with the fact that I will never have the sol and drac easter ships.
Not that I have much expectation this thread will ever been taken seriously. But since this is about giving feedback, let me spell it out for you.
I play this game for
one reason: It's casual.
I quit playing big-name real MMO's like eve online, or other browser MMO's like ikariam or starfleet because they all demanded I work my time around them. If I could not play for a week, it really hurt your stance in the game. You have to constantly be thinking about the game in order to be somewhat successful. I have something of a life, and that was no good for me.
For someone like myself, the real appeal of this game is it's one of the few MMO's that doesn't require you to devote your time to playing it every day. Advancing in the game is all based on the effort you put in while you are able to play. I could be gone for a month, and pick up where I left off, no problem. If it was not for this I would NOT be playing at all.
This game is frankly just a big excuse to grind, the reward being to collect bp and ships. The only people who stay with this game are those who like grinding, or those who like collecting. And if your interested in collecting, like I am, and want to unlock all the items in the game, then getting those easter ships was kinda important. Especially since if fail to get one, then the entire goal of unlocking everything in the game is unreachable. Like I said before, two weeks, then never again.
So between the time limit, and the forced dependency on other people, it was extremely frustrating trying to collect those bp. And as I've said in my previous post, it really was a slap in the face when SS failed to inform players that there would be an upcoming event, yet made that event so time critical. So maybe week one would have been pretty good to get a squad together. I don't know. I had no idea an event was going on till it was half way over, and help was scarce.
Add that to the new cq system that only allows you to donate one log, ONE log, a day. You need to log on everyday to help your clan. I don't mind helping my clan, but I do mind a game that again makes demands on my time. A game is supposed to be about having fun and enjoying it. A game that turns itself into a chore, when I have things I have to do in the real world is
NOT fun.
It's plain as day to me that SS is starting to go in a direction of requiring players to be online more in order to fulfill their goals in the game. If this continues to be the pattern, I will leave the game, that's a given.
I realize a developer can't make everyone happy. I'm just giving SS feedback on my experience with this event, in hopes to inform them that such decisions will not win over players like myself.
But to those of you in this thread: Don't proceed to ask me to change an opinion just because it doesn't match with yours.
