Taunt Needs Improvement

I have a thread on the general discussion spot but it is misplaced its meant to be here anyway my point
was the taunt is extremely useless for every thing from pvp to mantis killing its only good against a
boss plz add somethign ,y idea is a percent based defense or and attack bonus while taunt is actiae also adding te "contagious " ability to the taunt mantis closer to the taunted mantis will become "infected"
and also be taunted
percent of damage/defense increase increases with level of taunt and number of mantis "infected "


PLZ think about this the taunt really needs it ty pg crew u guys are great ^^ :mrorange: ^^ :p

if the taunt is used correctly then it wortks fine

it will never be effective in pvp as a player cannot get taunted

best use for the taunt is to keep away from the group of mantis and select the mantis you want to destroy and use the taunt. it will draw that particular mantis to you

A player can get taunted but not in the same way.

the taun niether recharges fsat enugh or has a good combat use the bad pvp use is WHY it needs to be improved and how is it a bad idea

Tanks are good enough, one little weapon that costs 100 cry and sucks, why would it needed to be improved?

As Yorkie says taunt is good for dragging mantis out of the group, it can also be used to protect squad members from fire.

But i would like to see taunt and agrobomb do what the description says in pvp aswell :)

Taunt will make player affected loose its target and target tank instead, same with agrobomb all shipps affected will shift target to the tank (tank better have his shield and scrambler up when doing this) ;D

I had an old idea, where the difference between the taunt's level and the victim's would add some visual stuff. For example, when the taunt is much lower, the only thing that will appear is a redoutline. At higher levels, you'll see spinning smilies on the screen and so on.

Spinning smilies? How about making the screen game shake, making player steering foggy and that's why he loses ability to orbit. And will make him see unclear and make it at least worth the Cryonite.

Well, if the level and the taunt is same, soemthing like foggy sight and screen shake will happen. At high differences, you will start seeing spinning smilies and the screen irising out (like that annoying graphics bug ^^ )

Anyway, i give my support because i only use taunt for marking and picking ds's wn they attack newbs

i hate taunt also i love tanks but when i rebuild my cq tank i didnt even put taunt in as not to press the hot key by accident an waste Energy. I think t should have a beter function but it cant be like you said add more defence. Im not sure what to change it to but i find it as a useless key

Taunt cannot be replaced with a defense unit, it will make it invincible. If anyone realized, in game it says in taunt description it sens noisy and disturbing stuff to opponent to make it attack you. That means it should happen to another player too

Taunt can then be handy in Cq, where enemy cq ship is trying to escape while you taunt it and screen will flicker and some annoying stuff will happen so Cq ship will have to determine the annoying stuff and must kill the player. However to make it unabusable only when first used the taunt makes screen flicker or maybe some visual inconvenience for a small time of 1-3 seconds.

Mybe but then it woudnt be taunt it would just be annyoing

My point in the first place was taunt needs more combat ability guys plz wat is so wrong with a stornger firepower/defense tank mybe some kind of bonus for killing an enemy while its taunted i mean we need some thing
wat about e for taunting an enemy firm 1-25 depending on lvl of enemy i wuld DEFINITLY buy a taun then xD

I have thought about this and while i sgtill think the taunt needs to be improved somehow mybe u culd add one of my ideas to rare taunts or something otherwise wat it the use in buying them

But, why there are more then 1 taunt then???
The worst taunt works the same as the best taunt.

Maybe if the taunt also decreases the defense of the taunted target a TINY bit, enough to be noticed, but not enough to make a one shot one kill deal or something like that
