Hi all,
Some of you already know me well, I've been playing Pirate Galaxy on and off for about 15 years now, 13 under the name StickManTwit. I'm also known as ZephyrSkies in other spaces, where I have done extensive work as a 3D modeller for an indie RTS title, and now I want to make some cool stuff for PG as well. You can find some of my work under my ArtStation under the id "zephyrskies8".
I have noticed that some of the new ships we are receiving as part of the event rewards that come and go through the years are repurposed enemy, NPC, story mission, or otherwise unique ships that already exist in the game in other forms, but that we have seen less and less actually unique models for ships. I thought there may be a demand for custom made, unique ships for us, filling design or even lore niches that haven't been touched yet.
Thusly, I am here to present my own concept ship models I have been working on for the last week or so. I will continue to post more in this thread as I keep making more models. Though these are purely for my own enjoyment first and foremost, I think it would be pretty cool if they one day came to the game too.
Keep in mind that I am not officially affiliated with Splitscreen Games, none of these are officially requested or endorsed by them in any way (yet!). All the "lore" I've written in their descriptions are purely my musings. Of course, all rights belong to the devs for various assets etc. etc. you know the deal.
Anyways, for the first ship:

META-SPX Howitzer Parsec
"As the Mantis victory over the Methanoid people became a certainty, a lucky few META-04 Shock squads defending the home front at the end of the war would be blessed with a captain piloting a Howitzer. A remarkable hybrid prototype of the best of the Defender and Sniper class outfits, Methatronic Industries sought to ensure that not only would they be able to bring the pain to the Mantis invaders from miles away, but ensure that any approaching combatant would be faced with a quagmire to the bitter end. With the Mantis victory following shortly after, many thought the Howitzer prototype's schematics were lost to time."
