go to settings, u can change it to the old steering system

the so called settings to make the steering back into the old system DONT work plain and simple they dont change it back into the old system at all they just make the rubbish new steering even worse

actually the setting DOES work, just that the old steering system is slow and unresponsive compared to what it was yesterday. SS, when you said we could switch back to the old system. we didn't think you would fiddle with that too...is this your way of trying to get everyone to switch to the new system?

the setting to use the old steering is rubbish cos it doesnt work, when you lock onto a mantis and try fire and steer with the w key and mouse like u used to be able too and you cant, it makes fighting and changing direction while fighting next to impossable so as you see the setting to use the old steering doesnt let you use the old steering

i'm not saying it's the same system, i'm saying that the button works and it IS the old system, SS just messed with it. and i agree with you that our ships are harder to control with the old system then they were yesterday, due to being slow and unresponsive with the key controls. i still think it's SS trying to get us to switch to the new system, which is ****, by making the old, better system ****.

Totally agree with RR, And others The new system does'nt work for this game( plays like some 2D shooter like Asteroids ) and the switch back to old system has been altered for the worse. In the PTR you had the old system with the option to switch to the new 3D steering mode.That is what you should do... Go back to the old steering system and give people the option to select the new improvments

im sorry but it isnt the same as the old steering system everyone is saying it isnt the same as the old system we all cant be wrong, please make it so we have an option to fully use the old steering system as it fully was before this update

I have discussed the new steering system with some of my clan members and you know what... it works differently for people with the same settings! YES, I know, impossible you say, well here is my example.

I have the camera follow disabled and and am using the new system for flying, I have camera move set to right mouse button and I use wasd to fly.

So I press and hold W and move forward great, I press the right mouse button move the camera about and guess what.. the ship has changed direction to where the camera is pointing.If I look behind me my ship does a 180. That is not what I want, I want to look about not change where I am going.

My clan mate who has same settings as me says the when he does the same his ship carries on going forward and does not change direction, I WANT THAT TOO, but can i get it.. no.

What is going on? I don't mind the change to a new method of steering but please..

1. make it work.. when I move the camera I DO NOT WANT IT TO MAKE MY SHIP GO IN THE DIRECTION OF THE CAMERA. The camera is for looking around, not for driving a ship.

2. Please stop it swaying from side to side when I do press W and A or W and D as after a few seconds it makes me puke!

Is anyone else experiencing the camera rotation causes the ship to go in that direction issue?

-well... -after reading sayyadins latest post in the news & announcement section were he try to justify the new updates, i´m afraid that we have to learn these new ways of "controlling" our ships. -you can find me in vega untill i feel experienced enough to move further on -maybe we can arrange races on kalabesh to improve our skills? -i shure hope that i can get a good grip of these new possibilities, or i will just be in my pod forever:!

You both are using different settings. I know as I have used his settings, Just check Use Relative Ship Controls & you will be able to do that

You both are using different settings. I know as I have used his settings, Just check Use Relative Ship Controls & you will be able to do that

the controls are so slower, that's why everyone is so angry it do not react so fast as before

There's that. And also, the new system doesn't take people with azerty-keyboards in mind. Keyboard layout is even more horrible for them.

If GMs were able to have their ship hover in place with a single command string, then why all of a sudden should "the hover feature require a total overhaul of the steering system", which was fine to begin with?

The hover feature has but a minor impact on the game. Whether it's in or out, doesn't affect our gameplay much. People have been playing without hover for months on end!
If you honestly can't feature without messing up fluid and simple steering of your ship (which unlike the hover is a basic necessity for good gameplay), then forget about the hover.

Honestly, developers-team. People have repeatedly said it and you still don't seem to understand:
if it ain't broken, then don't fix it!

Since this change, or cock-up, as most call it, I have noticed fewer regular players online. When I've pointed this out to other players, Im told they have got to another game but may return in the future, or have left the game completely. and thats in 48 hours since this change.
In other words SS, This is a DEAD GAME WALKING.Take note SS, people will only take this constant deteriation of the game for so long, and as we see atm, That is starting to happen.

same thing as everyone else put thought I'd put my own one on rather than commenting . Update has spoilt the game for me putting the old steering back on in settings helps a little but not much new loot system is rubbish steering rubbish teaming with bugs amongst lots of other things other pilots have said I agree with . What genius thought this would make the game better . Well you have lost another paying member .

SInce there has been advice on Steering settings Posted, Noone seems to have read or wanted to try them. This thread has been locked as it is serving no purpose other than to get folks Irate over the steering which does work fine.

Java also plays a part in this. If you dont want to follow recommended settings as a start point, then dont say anything.

The old PG was much better, it was easier to play and much cheaper. I remember i bought enhanced membership with skin included, it was 10k gold and it lasted 2 months. Pg would be so nice when SS just puts back all the old things like Pg was a year ago :-/ The only good improvement is the achievement system :-/

how to describe new steering? 2 words are enought: IT SUCKS!

return it as it was before this "downgrade" cause this new steering is so messed up that it practically makes navigating on the hive impossible. heck i even podded on gazica a few times because ship was moving in odd manner.
