The Steering System has been vastly Improved Late yesterday You now have 2 options under settings 3D (Nrw) & Non 3D (Old). I have played with both since first introduced on PTR & feel the New is Excellant by far as you can now fly with the 'W' Key, Target with Tab or Mouse click, Shoot with 1 key, change camera rotation & move with mouse without losing focus or firing.

Exactly totally agree though do ya think it would be good to make it so that pressing the teb and end kys are the equivalent to right cliking on the mantis rather than left clikcing?

-well... -i just came from the ptr 27/01-11. 08:00cet and i must say (write) that i can´t use it:! -our ships are still making silly movements on it´s own, and the option to keep the old steering system are not for real. -they are both messed up. -i simply have no idea how the developers are testing, and find this a superior update?!? -i can only say (write) that with my best will, i just can´t agree.

Disable the Intelligent Camera in Settings. I for 1 have tested the steering in both 3D & non-3D mode & find 3d to be very fluid & easy to Navigate with no problems at all

if you want to make a sharp turn, you look around, press "s" and then press "w" how is this smoother and "faster" than just turn cam around, release and press "w"?

Well i have been on to day and the old steering system is NOT the same it was yesterday, it respondes slowly or not at all, when holding down W and rotating the camera i should turn around when repressing W but most of the time i have to klick te pointer in the new direction as well.
I also seem to get stuck on corners more than usual, manly cos my controls are nonresponsive.

SPLITSCREEN PUT THE OLD STEERING IN THE GAME AS IT WAS BEFORE THIS UPDATE AS YOU SAID IT WOULD BE, why the hell you got to mess around with things that aint broken is beyond me, put the old steering back in the game as it was fully before the update as well as the new system so WE HAVE A CHOICE, all the other rubbish updates i have weathered and put up with but this so called new and old steering is making the game unplayable for me and alot of other players, the old system was much much faster for me, plain and simple is i dont like the new steering system and dont want to get used to it and dont want to use it so please put a setting in the game so i can use the old steering system as it fully was before this horrible update cos i cant play this game as it is

Yea, I agree that the old steering system is not the same and is ruined. It's ridiculously slow in reaction to movement and I can't even do a full 180 degree spin with the WASD keys to turn back in direction anymore. -.-

the steering changed because the hoover mode didn't work.

I have seen at least 6 High level players say in public chat that they are leaving, and that is just on the first day since the update. This steering is bad, plain and simple, and the option to change it to the 'old style' is sluggish too. But once again, SS have stuck by their company motto ' If it aint broke, Break it'. SS, it looks like you shot yourself in the foot again.

I couldn't agree more

You (splitscreen) asked us to test it and we did. We told you it SUCKED and you still put it in the game anyway. Now we have 2 different steering systems and NEITHER OF THEM WORK well. Why did we waste our time testing this stuff only for you to ignore our feedback and introduce an inferior product to the one you already had.

You guys are your own worst enemies, I swear you must be trying to run this game into the ground.

I may or may not be around for the duration of my membership, after that....
