Having a better Attack is better, if you attack more you wont need to defend your self....

Yup, but when having about 5 mantis on you at once you could die so thats why you should get tank, you would not die as quickly

Good point, but Tank or no Tank, 5 mantis (with guns, obviusly) would probably bring you down any way.

I'd say tank if you want to survive missions easier, and storm for everything else..
Storm(warhawk) is great at grinding crystals and rares, also good in missions if you need to kill mantis...
I personally like storm : )

Best defence is a good offense, exactly, that why tanks rule, a dam storm even with aim and even with rockets will mis-hit a tank that aim scrambling, and when that aim computer is off, tank shields and continue blasting that dam storm.

(Great tactic, cause when tank aim scramb, a storm is FORCED to aim computer, or else will be easy kill)

I just stick with storm all the way through (well thats a lie, I got tank in vega, shock in antares, engi in gemini and storm in mizar... lol) but once I started using storm in Mizar I just stuck to it.

Also @ElectroM vega tanks dont have aim scrambler

I prefer War Hawk...missiles...aim PCs...plus, you can just upgarde armour for the War Hawk.

I reckon, for solo play, you want the war-hawk.

Even with 5 mantis on you it is not so hard to just keep out of range and pick them off one by one, and it would be quicker than doing the same thing in a tank due to the availability of rockets.

However, for group play, I would say a tank would be equally matched for its usefulness. I've only got as far as the Gemini system, and if it gets increasing more difficult as I suspect it will, then a squad with a tank, an engineer and a 'fighter' or two would make a lot of encounters painless if the tank gets the aggro and the engineer keeps him alive.

I expected to see more play in that 'holy-trinity' style, but up to now I have mainly seen players going solo with a fighter.

In terms of 1-v-1, if the game is properly balanced then a war-hawk should kill a tank at the same time the tank kills the war-hawk!
