Ok, I was able to figure it out. For some odd reason I cannot run in highest quality anymore. I have to use medium. Resolution does not seem to matter. Is there some other setting perhaps with my video card that could cause the highest quality setting to behave like that? Something like aliasing? I have always run in highest quality at 1024x768 res and never had any trouble like this. Also, for Highway or any other SS higher power , is there a way to put the setup menu in the login screen or somewhere before you actually go into the game? It took a good half hour or more just to get into the setup and make this change. It would be nice to be able to make changes before getting stuck in a laggy/freezing environment. So, it is running now, but I have never come across a program yet that has even begun to slow these SLI GPUs, and I would find it hard to believe that a browser game could do it. What does the highest quality setting do in the game that medium setting does not?

all that have problems make sure you turn off user account control if you are using windows vista or 7. im using windows 7 ultimate 64 bit version and i get no problems login in, also make sure all your drivers are upto date and make sure your windows is upto date as well
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. Everything seemed to clear up but the last update has really buggered my system. I can no longer log in using client as I get endless loading and when I try to log in browser, java stops responding or the game crashes. I ahve sent in 10 crash reports in the last 5 minutes. My drivers are all up to date and my windows is up to date. I am not the only one having issues as you can tell. Firewall is off and no anti-virus so how do I make sure UAC is off? The account I run on has complete Admin access and to make sure its allowed, I set the program to run as admin in properties. I also tried running the client in several compatibilities including XP SP2, XP SP3, Vista and yes, even win2000 with same results, endless loading so any help on UAC would be appreciated as that is the only thing I havent tried yet since I have no clue where it is or how to turn it on or off.

Not seen any of the java logs. Send them into the ticket system and I get someone to look at them.

I found UAC in Windows 7 by clicking start then in the search type uac and hit enter but as for the java logs, not sure where to get them but does it count that the client and browser both are sending crash logs? I know I sent around 15-20 yesterday alone. Couldnt play the game at all so I was stuck playing Solitare. EWWW so let me know what you need and its urs.

My hard drive crashed last Thursday. I have a brand new hard drive, now XP SP2 will all updates and current drivers. PG launcher 1000175, PG rev 1001119, and Java 6 Update 20. I can log ing and be ok in orbit or flight between planets, but if I try to land on a planet I get massive freezing/lagging. The sound is stuck in a loop too, very strange graphics in window. I have tried disabling my Norton firewall and that does not help. I have tried launching in browser and dowloaded client, and same problem in both. This is the same config I had before my hard drive died, and I always used the stand alone client download, never browser login. I looked at my task manager and system is 97% idle so I know it is not my FX60 dual core. I did notice 3 occurrances of a thread called dumprep in my processes that were eating up a lot of resources once. It says that Java becomes non-responsive. Here are a couple of pics to show what the screen looks like and the crash.

Thank you sbatten for trolling this thread with your own personal problem. In future, could you start up a new thread if you have a problem that is completely unrelated to the one I tried to report here. Your hard drive crash has NOTHING TO DO with log in problems, so why post it here? Also, ive tried all the suggestions related to my problem and I still have the same problem. Anything else people would like to suggest? and sbatten PLEASE stop trolling threads, its getting really annoying.

Since there are so many Pilots that can get on & play, It is apparent there may be a problem with your inividual system. Have you sent a detailed ticket to Support? did you run the compatability check & send those results? If not I would suggest doing so.

If the Hardware & Software configurations on all systems was the same, then it would be any easy problem to fix, but since they are not we need as much detail from the player as we can get. So please if you have not done so yet, Send full details including your Pilot Name & server along with the Compatability Report to support@pirategalaxy.com. It may help also to send in a screen Shot of your system specs (Start>Run>dxdiag - this will work fine for system specs)

First off, there were a couple of ppl on this thread having somewhat similar problems. My issue APPEARED to be a connection problem of some sort, so that is why I posted here thinking several ppl might figure out a common solution. And what the hell do you mean by trolling threads? You mean reading the forums? Is that not what they are here for? :frown:

This thread was about log in problems, not hard drive failures. Trolling threads is derailing them via going offtopic or posting controversial issues (the latter of which doesnt apply) It was clear what the problem I posted was here and, although the one you posted was a bug, it is not related to the one I posted. Thus you trolled the thread. Your hard drive crash should have been a seperate thread.

ok well this is embarassing.... On trying to get some screenshots for the email I can log in fine and get onto the game first time. It seems that something happened with the last time a re installed and its working again. Weird, but it seems that this problem has fixed itself. For now.

I am glad to hear lance that your problem was resolved.
Since Astraeus gave you the solution of what to do with your problem, I see this thread can be closed now.
Any further problems you know now the fastest way to get issues handled, is to file a ticket.
Enjoy your playing. :mrorange:
