<SOLVED> MAJOR LOGIN PROBLEMS- HELP NEEDED

Right, Rzrsedge mentioned this, but i cannot get past the server select screen on the login screen. From there, it fades out to the background then gives me a message saying the severs are currently offline.It seems to not be able to connect to any of the ingame severs. This needs to be looked into, most players do not have time to sit at the login screen for hours.

it seems that if i reinstall the game before logging in, I can get it fien, but as soon as I log out I have to reinstall it again

So Im not stupid, im not goin insane and im not the only one with this issue? Thank God. And here I thought I was losing my mind. Grab a number. I dont see a fix for this for quite some time.

so now I have to reinstall the game every time I start it up. Gr8. So does everyone here have a version of Windows 7? I have home premium, Rzrs has Ultimate, cocolino.vpn83 do you have windows 7?

From what yall is describing here, it is not a SS issue but rather a PC Issue. The game client is getting corrupted by something else on YOUR system. It seems everytime an issue comes up yall blame SS or the servers rather than lookin at the obvious.

Why dont yall try cleaning the garbage from your systems, Like your Temporary Internet Files, Old Cookies, Temp Files etc, Do a Disk Scan, A Defrag & also more importantly a MALWARE Scan. There is 3000+ New Bugs coming out everyday. Not all Virus Protection or Spyware protection prorams will detect these new threats. Maybe you have a RootKit issue. Maybe you have a Trojan, or a Program on your system with a Bad Memory Leak.Maybe you are running a Bootleg copy of the OS

Bottom Line is this: Until you can say 100% that your own system has NO type of Problems whatsoever, Dont be so quick to say SS or the Servers are at fault

No One Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware program will be 100% in detecting todays bugs. You may have Only 1 Anti-Virus Program rumming on your system at 1 time but you may have Several Anti-Spyware Programs. There are lots of Very Good Free Programs out there. I cannot list them here nor Promote any Programs here without permission.

On a Final Note: After being a Computer (PC) /Server /Network Tech for 28+ years I have seen most ALL the Worst that can be out there or on a PC or Server or Network Failure

well does windows 7 require u to run games in admin mode or have you allowed the game in yer firewall yet?
are you turning off yer anti virus/spyware programs? alot could be the cause.

all that have problems make sure you turn off user account control if you are using windows vista or 7. im using windows 7 ultimate 64 bit version and i get no problems login in, also make sure all your drivers are upto date and make sure your windows is upto date as well

My hard drive crashed last Thursday. I have a brand new hard drive, now XP SP2 will all updates and current drivers. PG launcher 1000175, PG rev 1001119, and Java 6 Update 20. I can log ing and be ok in orbit or flight between planets, but if I try to land on a planet I get massive freezing/lagging. The sound is stuck in a loop too, very strange graphics in window. I have tried disabling my Norton firewall and that does not help. I have tried launching in browser and dowloaded client, and same problem in both. This is the same config I had before my hard drive died, and I always used the stand alone client download, never browser login. I looked at my task manager and system is 97% idle so I know it is not my FX60 dual core. I did notice 3 occurrances of a thread called dumprep in my processes that were eating up a lot of resources once. It says that Java becomes non-responsive. Here are a couple of pics to show what the screen looks like and the crash.

iv got an intel i7 quad core, 8 gig ddr3 ram and 2 ati 5870 and i get the same as u but i dont get the bad graphics i just get loads of freezing on the planet surface and non stop bad signal. could it be ur graphics card is on its way out as well???

I have two GTX7800 SLI and this only happens with PG when landing on a planet. They are just fine otherwise and even in PG if in orbit or in flight between planets it is ok. This only happens when on the planets.I have latest drivers for the GPUs as well.

Looking at your Screen Shot, I can see you have a Graphics issue - either a card has failed or your Drivers too a trip to a warmer climate - Try reloading your Drivers but remove old ones 1st

I should be able to test the individual cards by taking them out of SLI mode and trying the monitor in each card output right? I will try uninstalling video drivers first and re-installing them.

OK, steps taken so far.

1) Uninstalled drivers and re-installed latest drivers from BFG Tech / NVidia - no change

2) Took it out of SLI - no change

3) Disabled card 1 and used only card 2 - no change

4) Disabled card 2 and used only card 1 - no change

5) Uninstalled Pirate Galaxy and re-installed - no change

6) Ran Repair on Pirate Galaxy - no change

7) Tried launching from browser - no change

Things to note

1) When I eventually die from freezing, I go to hangar and game runs great
2) I can leave hangar into orbit and game runs great
3) I can fly around between planets and game runs great
4) If I try to land on a planet, I get the graphics problem

So, the big question is - what is different between being in hangar, orbit, and interplanetary flight that is different than being ON a planet?

Is it possible that I have a corrupt download? I noticed that the download from Gamigo is a bad link now.

On the planet there is terrain that gets displayed by the terrainsystem. It seems that your hardware/driver has problems displaying it. It would be interessting to hear from another user that has the same videocard it he is able to play without this problems. Then we can clarify that it must be a bug connected to that hardware and the terrainsystem.Did you try to lower the quality settings on the options dialoge?

do u have direct x 9c installed, you probably do just a thought thats if you are using windows xp, and do you have the latest update for c++ from windows. also try the 197.45 drivers from nvidia if you have not already

I did the 197.45 NVidia drivers. This is a fresh install of Win XP SP2 and installed all updates. I did not use any backup or anything. I am wondering if anyone else is using Java 6 update 20 since it keeps saying that Java has stopped responding. Direct X is one thing I have not checked yet, I figured it would come with Win XP or one of the updates. I think though that after the above testing of my GPUs, I really do not think it is the GPUs, especially since I loaded Medieval Total War and it ran great.
