Just another idea to help slow the pace of the game and benefit the players.

Clan memberships/applications:

For clans/players that have access to Sirius: If a player is kicked or quits a clan, they can not join another clan that is in Sirius for 5+ days.

This will give a player that has been kicked or quit a clan a cool down period before application into another clan.

This will also reduce the clan hoping for tech in sirius and help build clan loyalty.

For players that "must" jump to another clam in sirius, a 5K gold charge for each of the 5+ days that remain before they are able to join another clan.

This allows clan hoppers to continue to clan hop and also rewards loyal players that dont abuse the system to get tech.

Generates Gold sales.
Builds clan loyalty.
Rewards players that are playing within the guidelines of the game and grinding as the game is designed.

Just a though

Hmm, I think I like it, the only thing I'd change about it though is that if the player is kicked out of the clan then the time frame should be reduced. Otherwise you might get officers kicking people they don't like for no good reason just for kicks. If they quit the clan themselves then that's different. Personally I'd be kinda ticked if I got booted from clan then was forced to wait 5 days to join another clan or pay real money.

CtM,
hello, I agree, however it like many things would be used as a loophole to bye pass the cool down. As an example, one my clannies needs rockets off another ring planet, instead of quiting to join a friends clan, I kick him so his cool down is shorter and he can come back to my clan sooner.

perhaps it is something that the designers could trigger for players that have sirius access as opposed to a huge script to mask all players regardless of system access.

Appreciate the feedback.

You're right Quarter, the exception would be used in that way. Though I also think that cryonite could be used as well as Gold. Just as an alternative so that some of the less rich players can get around ok too IF we need to. Personally i couldn't justify spending money on such little thing unless I really had the money to go do it.
Also if they implement itfor Sirius playes, wouldn't it make sense to impliment the same thing for lower ranked players too? Because tthere is the same issues with clan jumping into other clans in order to increase their CQ numbers, so it would help that situation to.

I as Co-Admiral for DT like this idea very much.
I do not like the clan jumps after a better tech, in my experience we have had members who's been long time members of clan, performed clan jump after better tech, then came back just for to remain inactive using our clan to hang in while not playing. As soon they came back they returned to the other clan,
or they have not returned at all.

This proves clan jumps even make clans loosing members, tearing apart clans.

I agree with the 7 Days cool down period, but I have also another suggestion within this.

In DT we have a Trial time of 2 weeks for new members, this is also applying now for returning members.
What is a Trial time?
It is a time when the new member has to prove to us the activity, behavior, teamwork, ability and skill of playing, loyalty, etc.
If a player becomes inactive during this time without any good reason, we will dismiss this player,
Also if we are not pleased with other things, we will dismiss,
but it also gives the right for the player to leave the clan if they don't like it for some reason.

Now my add to this suggestion will be, make a new member trial time implemented in the game, and clans, for 1 week, they would not be able to leave the clan, nor be dismissed during this time.

For old members, and then leaving members the 7 Days cooldown to join another clan should be implemented, now it would work the both ways.

It might work in a very good way, the players who has jumped, might like the clan they jump to and stay.
This would create more stability to the clans, and I believe would increase the loyalty.
Members has really to think twice or 3 times before they leave a clan.

What they also have to think in question of Sirius, that leaving their own clan, it affects the clan,
cause some clans are smaller, and with less members, and might also have a small alliance,
they will not be able to jump anymore to higher rings.
Some players jump to other clans to get better tech on Sirius, but what if they stay loyal with the clan they are in, work to help lower members to reach Sirius, and the clan would have more members, and the clan would then be able to reach the higher rings, and better tech themselves.

I think this would then be affective for all systems, and not only for Sirius jumpers.

Let me know what you think.

I like the idea of moving from my original post of 5 days to 7 days, even with this there would still be jumping to catch the last day or two of a 9 day new R-5. Maybe even increase to 8-9 days which eliminates the opportunity all together.

I also like the idea of global application for all systems.

Thanks for the great feedback.

I suspect the only objection to this would come from those layers and clans that using the clan jumps to get tech quicker than clans that are grinding as designed.

As the world is run by those that show up!! what do we need to do to make this happen?

This is an intriguing idea perhaps you could go round the different systems and put it out there in public chat Quarter?

I still like this idea, tis a gooden I also think the 7 days would be better than 5.

I still think cryonite could be used alongside gold too though, it could be made 20 - 40,000 cryonite/day (out ofhow many days left there are) to bypass the time limit. I think that sounds fair. It would probably lead to an increase in cryonite boosters baught for those that like clan jumping. It still doesn't make it easy to get around but at the same time there's an alternative option to gold too.

If it's definately going to be suggested as a global idea I'll support it fully since I think it'll be made the most worth while that way.

clan jumping, well this is the result...

active clans has fallen split into more clans, you can see many now, the old GoA, hammers, LE, etc they've almost all fallen or close to, before they had at list over 20 members active once. Even in my old clan we had over 15-20 members active regularly, all high ranked , I hope the fallen clans will one day raise again, so I can go hunt'em down

A marvelous idea to put limit's on clanjumps.

You could also limit the clan jumps to let's say 1 or 2 a month.

In our clan it's done and over with. Tech-Hoppers are not comming back.

Tech Hoppers undermine the Sirius Gameplay. They just get what they want, then the 'better - tech' is gone because that specific player leaves clan. They in fact leech on the time and effort of other players to get what they want then move on. I personally resent it. just as i don;t like people that step into lin before me in a store.

I wonder why clan admirals go along with this. Because they know the player is commin in for tech. Probably promissing to help with their tech too, but in the end the Tech Hopper is not thrustworthy anymore as soon as he gets what he or SHE wants.

So in Alliances, i advice admirals to not take in Tech Hoppers. Or to check with the former Admiral before they let someone in.

In my opinion, p[ut in the code off conduct and even jail people for it.

In Sirius you are lost without a strong clan.

So, one of the rare occasions that i must strongluy agree with all idea's above including Astreus & Starchaser. :mrorange:

Bye the way, look at real life. Why do you think there is a transfer season for football-players to 'Hop-Clan' ? Because it's not favourable if during the season strong players leave a club for MONEY or whatever. It undermines the system.

I want to make something clear here regarding to my previous post in this thread, but first thank you for the feedback on my ideas and ty Defcon, wasn't expecting you to like my ideas

Okay but clearing now:

Player leave clan to join other clan after better tech (techjumper) on higher ring in Sirius:

Leave own or jumped clan = 7 Days Cooldown before able to join own or other clan = End of tech jumps

DT is not accepting Tech Hunters/Jumpers in any point, we do not either accept tech jumpers within DT anymore.
If there is no longer period Cooldown (7 days) implemented in game, I myself am keeping a player in cooldown before he/she can rejoin DT!

DT is growing Stronger each day now more with faithful & active members, we put it very clear what we like and what we don't, what we accept & what we don't.
Our memberlist consists almost only on active members, and any inactive will be removed if they don't have a valid reason to be inactive.

The Strength of a clan is NOT shown with an endless memberlist, but a list that shows active & loyal pilots!
We are not either accepting any clan to alliance who has a long hanging list of inactive members, and less of a handful is active.

Its the Clan Admirals job to control their clan members. If they dont want to do this, then the 72 hour cooldown will be in effect as that is what it was designed for. GM will not get involved in Clan Issues such as this.

If Clan Admirals were against it & worked together to stop it, then it would stop

This is a game exploit plain and simple. the intent of Sirius as it was portrayed was to be clan and squad based. Also it was to start in ring-1 and work your way to the outer rings (2-3-4-5). Jumping from clan to clan only to gain tech and avoid having to do missions on the lower rings to get there is a slap in the face to players that are playing it as designed.
So in short what we are hearing here is jump often and all you want and that the complaints of the Admirals in here are being ignored to protect the few. ?

So lets put it in perspective:
1. if you jump to a clan and donate log files while you are there, that's a cheat and jailable?
2. If you jump to a clan and compete in a CQ, that also is a cheat and jailable?
3. If you use the CQ compete button that allows the system to give your clan an edge or preference for being chosen if more than two clans are competing, that is a cheat and jailable.
4. If you jump back to your original clan after competing in a CQ and or donating log files that is a cheat!?.

However!! If you clan jump, donate log files, compete in CQ and gather only the best sirius tech, dont do any ring missions to get to ring 5, circumvent the cooldowns for each ring, circumvent doing the missions on each planet, and return to your original clan, this is not a cheat!!

Shame on those of you (us) who thought you had to traverse ring-1 to ring-2, ring-3, ring-4 and finally ring-5 to get to the good tech and work for what you got.

lets just get rid of the cool downs and open it up to jumping ships where and when we want?

lets get rid of these silly rules since they are typically only used to single players out as opposed to applying to everybody?

We dont need no stinking clans, all we need is buddies scattered around the ring so we can jump clans for the good stuff. Don't need to worry about buying a jump ship, no worry about doing missions, and we wonder why clans are not surviving.

if the game dies a slow death it will be because of issue like this where zip is done to correct the problem and protect the few that abuse the system.

respectfuly.

Geez the entire reason for the clan jumping got so spread now is cus of sirius... I've never ever seen such a burst of clans making, people wasting there cry making new clan, then closing it, such a huge waste of cryonite... The Issue here is the bps! 1 clan with huge amount of members can't give everyone the bp's they need! If something isn't changed within the BP drop system. Then good luck bro! I can for cast changing the rules of clan jumping can be devastating, in a huge scale, cus of sirius, rushing like banning clan jumping for tech would be fatal, people still doing it, jailed or whatever it might be, leaving game, cus clan cant give everyone the bps they need... something needs to be changed, or we can't stop this mess, not gonna suggest anything, cus none listens to them... :|
