This is an idea i have had for a while now so id like to bring it out and get feedback

Implement ship banning, before a cq starts, all enlisted players can vote for a ship (or 2 ships) to be banned (preferably rdx ships) i havent given much thought about it so there may be flaws like what if you ban the only ship someone has and then he has nothing to land in?

Ofcourse if that doesnt work you should atleast consider capping how many people can pick 1 ship so that i dont have to see 10 griffons per team

Banning one meta will spawn another. There will always be some upper tier ship and equipment combo that people with unlimited time and cryo will grind out, no matter what's banned. The presence of one ship (the Griffon) being so controversial and perceived as being problematic even should be an avenue to look into balancing out ship classes in general, maybe some tweaks to the stats for the Griffon at most. Outright setting the ability to ban ships will hurt more than help in the long term imo.

Griffon is clearly intended tojump in, take a kill, then jump out. It has a big damage and a lot of HP to give it the time to pick someone before leaving.

The problem is that the devs probably didn't think about what would happen if a full team decide to play it.
The issue is how to fix the issue without destroying his intended purpose?

The core issue of this system, not everyone has every ship for each system, meaning like you said, you can litterally throw someone out of the conquest. And that's a major issue.

Askone is indeed a curious server...

When the Griffon was released I was trying to defend it because everyone was underestimating its power till the point of calling it useless (I remember one guy saying that if you die against a Griffon u clearly lack situational awareness).
Now that many months have passed I'm trying to convince people that the ship is NOT that overwhelming in conquests.
Sure it's strong in 1vs1 like the Marlstone or the Cormorant, but with many players involved is another type of ship moving around.
In early stages of the conquest the ship has to perform well to be justified because it does fall off in the late game a lot, due to single target weaponry and poor grav use.

The only thing I should mention, and not only affects the Griffon, is that the Quantum Leap cooldown is too short, nerfing the skill cooldown is more than enough to solve all the problems without dropping that ship to trash tier.

But I have to say that if this system is implemented I will try my best to remove the tank class from Antares and Vega for the rest of my life, too many players always pick it and the conquest becomes boring as hell :LOL:

It's a good idea, it can force people to change gameplay and ships.
Also there will be another meta but who cares, as long as there is some change, i'm in

Nerfing the module itself is problematic for the other ship that use it. Ship with it have generally no other way to defend or survive in a prolongated fight because they lack of sustainability.

In the intended gameplay loop, it's supposed to be both his way in and out. Sure it has a lot of HP but no afterburner, a slow speed and no reliable way to sustain in prolonged engagment.

What can happen if suddendly a entire team decide to play it?
Well you have teamfight with big tanky ship that do big damage. Sure they lack the sustain needed for long fight, but that's not an issue if everyone is dead due to high and well coordinated damage or if they can just jump out of the fight then go back on it later.

Sure a ban system or a max ship per team could prevent the spam of the same ship.
But again, player need to build their ship, it take time to do it (especially for later systems), and giving player the possibility of prevent a player that have only 1-2 ship for a system is something that absolutely won't be abused because everyone is friendlyon this game...

Most boring conquest ever. No ship choice and a awfull meta.
