And YES I know that this is like others ideas, but with a little fun added


You know how the ship ALWAYS drifts? And that anchoring on an e ball can be risky if people come and collect it? What about the ship anchor? It could be just that, an anchor.

Ideas:
Customizable Rope/Chain length, like a ragdoll chain just for look, I would apreciate this part be added as a normal just sitting there anchor would be boring. if you cant make the ragdoll add a static "stick" chain that still moves
Customizable Rope/Chain color
You can fly around on the chain while anchored (like go in circles just for kicks)
Clicking the anchor will pull it up
A status message that floats above the anchor (Like afk)

Collecting takes energy takes forever.
What if every rare collector collected everything in a certain area? (AOE btw means Area of Effect)
Could help with mass cryonite collection while grinding, energy collection (but to be fair, a small reduction % of energy would be deducted from the total if more than 5e balls were collected, like 5%)
Stats: Note charge time remains 1 second
Vega: 100 energy collected in 30 seconds, every energyball collected adds 7 seconds of cooldown
Antares: 100 energy collected in 15 seconds every energyball collected adds 6 seconds of cooldown
Gemini: 100 energy in 7 seconds every energyball colected ads 5 seconds of cool down
Mizar: 500 energy in 10 seconds every energyball collected adds 5 seconds of cooldown
Sol: 1000 energy in 10 seconds every energyball collected ads 5 seconds of cooldown.
Or maybe a special set of collectors could be added that cost more than the rare?

Please consider these ideas and reply when you have an idea about them, not telling my why they shouldnt be added because of this reason and that reason, unless they are REALLLLLYYY good reasons. and gms, before telling me that they won't be added, think about how they could be made better, but more effective than the standard collectors. NOTE: the anchor has NO advantages besides stopping you from moving a certain distance in any direction.

Actually consider this. And seriously, I really am not looking for Mods talking about how it wouldnt fit; it would mess up the game. Maybe the AOE, but an anchor that does nothing besides stop you from moving far and displays a message? That can't mess up the game balance

i prefer hovermode idea to an anchor, but mulitple collection is a good one.

Idk, the anchor would add a little fun to the whole anchor idea. Just sitting there would be boring, but if you were anchored waiting for someone, it would be a little fun to fly around your anchor. I'm also glad that you like the AOE collector idea

The AOE collector idea has been around since the game was in closed beta, but poses more problems than it would solve. What to do when several people use this collector in the same e field?

Anchor good AOE bad. Remember, SplitScreen is a company, they're out to make money. Energy is one of their easiest sellers because no one wants to do it. An AOE makes it too easy, and therefore they don't make as much money. This would also encourage BP and Cryo stealing on a grand scale. Watch someone fly into a crowd, blow everything up, and they have to collect one at a time, while you take it all at once.

I like the anchor idea but the AOE doesnt sound realy good

unless the aoe collecter has a limited range, and it would have to be very close. so like 100 meters as measured by the game. so if you were sittin in a cluster of e orbs that were sittin on top of each other, then you could collect them at the same time.

Thats actually a pretty good reason... Yeah I see how that would mess things up

If I may?

When I dreamt up the idea behind a thread that suggested the creation of a new player-controlled unit type, I thought about the use of an AOE collector at first, because I'd suggested that said unit use a large amount of E as one of it's drawbacks.
However, I thought it through. After daydreaming about it for several minutes, and considering the consequences of what perhaps seemed like glorious ideas, I quickly realized that that sort of thing is completely unfair to both SS, and the other players around you. :(

Unfair to SS because they sell less energy.
Unfair to the players, because there's none to collect anymore.

Picture this:
Crystalwolf - "collecting takes forever..."
Friend one - "Yeah, tell me about it."
Crystalwolf - "Hey! :D The E's all clustered here!"
*Uses AOE collector."
Friend one - "Thanks a lot ya sob." *Has no E to collect all of a sudden.*
Unknown 1 - "THE E... IT'S... IT'S ALL GONE!"
Unknown 2 - "Who could've done such a horrible, thoughtless thing?!" *tear*
Friend one - "...HIM." *indicates Crystalwolf*
Eh oh.

The imaginary me loves the aoe collector. The real me however, dislikes it.

Ever think of calling it collector field, like repair field, and maybe this... You have the e get collected near u with no control, in a good way. Like how you can heal ayone in a repair field but they have to come to you. The energies all have their own collection timer, so they all collect regularly but simultaneously. Maybe this could be the long awaited 9th tech.

Like you can turn it on, then click on multiple balls but you have to get close to them?

If a ship can hover stationary long enough to collect an E ball or a BP, surely it should have a stationary hover mode?
Makes more sense really, because an anchor wouldn't work in places like Technatoria and Commerce Central where there's no ground.

The anchor is a good idea and should be implemented

And i think i found a way for AoE collecter to be fair everyone under the Collecter Field will get 25% from the E

For example lets say your alone and u find an E ball thats 100E if u collect it alone u get all of the E but if

someone is under the field they get a part so u both would get 50E if there where 4 u would all get 25 5

(20 E) is the limit of people that can get E for example theres 6 people under 5 of those 6 people will get

20E :p now people wont wine about "Where'd all the E go" because they where to late :D
