Revise of the PVP-Update
In this topic i would like to look back to the changes that were done in the PVP-update. After Tau Ceti there will be another part of the pvp update. Hopefully a part that can fix the flaws from this update and create a fun experience for all the players that want to participate in pvp. In my opinion the pvp update so far created decent fun, but due to the many negatives about being red it did not increase the overall fights happening.

Development Goals
First of all here is a summup from the development goals set by splitscreen:

  • Add protection timer when landing on a planet to avoid getting killed while not yet in control of the ship.
  • Ensure that “premium only” items do not affect PVP activities.
  • Make Colossus (PVP Battle Planet) available more often.
  • Add Conquest planet to Sirius System that allows Sirius tech to be used.
Main issue's
Ship's movement speed
After i've done a few pvp battles with gemini ships i noticed a big difference in normal flight speed from the different shipclasses. Storm being the fastest ship of the 4 normal classes.

The movement speed you got from purchaseable boosters was diabled cos there was concluded that flightspeed is an "OP" feature. These new flightspeeds realy criple the tank and somehow the shock class aswell. Being able to fly faster then you oponent gives a huuugeee advantage. Tank classes are doomed un-usefull now. Storms are faster then a shock class wich is also strange cos you would say shock class is all about agility and speed. If you aim for fair pvp's I advice to make all flight speeds the same again, or atleast as it was before the updates. Flightspeed is OP and favors the storm class way to much atm.

Premium items
Removing the usage of speedbooster in pvp was a good update. I would like to see the removal of gravitions aswell during pvp. It only causes unfair advantages for players who eighter pay them or have loads on them.

Besides that its pretty annoying that your speedbooster does not work when your red and just shooting PVE stuff. You have to get rid of your red for speedbooster to work again. Therefor i personally rarely turn red. Being red only has disadvantages atm. I hope you make some sort of reward system for pvp in the next pvp update to recover some of the disadvantages of being red.

Armor & itemchanges
Giving a vega ship a change on escaping while fighting a sirius ship is okey-ish. Eventhough i believe it causes more harm then it gives joy. It harms the game since items now rely on the armor that is installed on your ship. Making rep droids and self protecting/healing items very weak. For example sirius long rep droid on a vega ship works same like vega long rep droid. Understandable it works like this now, but i think it does not do much good for the game PVE wise.

One other thing i don't understand is why the engineer class and shock class had to be changed as much as they do. Both their cooldowns on the items are like doubled. The engineer class is a whole different class now since the changes. All items got drastically changed into a ship that has more trouble keeping one person alive now. Personally I like the old engineer better. I still can't see why these changes had to be done.

Same goes for shock, its a completely different experience now. Shock used to be mainly for PVP purposes. But since these recent changes i find it quite hard to kill anyone in a shock. Stuns are to weak, especially the stundome. You need a real specific build on your shockship if you want to have any succes.

All these changes lead to a system that favors the damage dealing ships. And the stronger items you have the better you do.

Shock class
Shock class needs some real love when it comes to pvping. Its realy difficult to kill anyone with it.

Drones
I think that you can keep drones available in pvp, but the only thing is they should not be this limited to get. Drones can make a big difference in your fight aswell. When someone does not have the damange drone and armor drone they lose out on so much usefull stats that the advantage is to big. I would recommend you to put the drones available to get from units across the galaxy as you do with speeddrone.

Eighter make them available to get from units or delete the functionality of drones in pvp

Colossus & CQ planetes
Colossus became good fun, the only downside is that it is only scheduled once a week for 2 hours. I Like to see some more scheduled fights and maybe also squad fights. Its even mentioned in your planned changes to make colossus happen more often.

And teaming is happening there to often, maybe schedule a gm to be online during a fight once in a while.

I hope you can remove cryloss on CQplanetes aswell, or atleast make a greater reward for the effort ppl put in the conquest. Also some different gamemode on CQ would be nice.

Conclusion
To many downsides of being red, ships movement speed difference between classes is way to much. Shockclass is basically useless, some ships are favored way better then others and bounty has no real function. All the downsides make it that ppl rarely turn red.

Positives colossus is good fun

very good ideas and focus on PVP, let's hope the developers get ideas for it. ;)


about the subject of the bounty I suppose it will be changed in the update of the Invasions :)
