yes every ship has it own speed

Speed booster and Speed Drone more exactly.
Depends on the AB of each ship, some ships are lighter than others, as for example compare a Shock with a Tank, tank can be a real snail.

Well the speed of them is nearly the same it is only an difference of 2.3/second so that only over time the speed will be seen.
In the end what the Firepower belongs i would prefer the Sniper cause he could buff his attacks and his Sniper Blaster is fast and hits everytime. The onliest exeption is when you fight against an unit which uses Aim Scrambler then the Chance falls an bit but it´s really less maybe from 100% to 95%. The 2nd advantage of the Sniper is his Orbital Strike which has an good AoE radius and dmg which has an fast cooldown (30 Secs). The onliest disadvantage which the Sniper has is that he has an Paperarmor which is nearly same as Engineer Armor what means he can pod very fast (counts only for the Draconis Sniper atm Sol Sniper is strong armored due of his Rare Armor Bonus)
The Storm in the other hand is powerfull too but this is only then when his Aim Computer is active so that every Rocket and Blaster hits and he could produce at the same time more criticals. His Thermoblaster is an constand dmg over time but has an high cooldown time and could only be used for one target. The Rocket itself are the most powerfull item of the Storm but they have an small AoE area which only hits units which stay close together. An "Advantage" of the Storm is his Perforator which negates Shield and he shoots through them directl (in squads this advantage is nearly negated cause the shields collapses faster then the Perforator is activated) The Storm in compare to the Sniper has an higher rate of Armor and is able to survive longer in battle against an biger group of Units at the same time.
So the decision in the end is by you cause Storm and Sniper are nearly the same and only their armor differse them to each other and their items...

Just something i noticed about this (might sound a bit silly thoughRamirez said:
). All rare ships have a purple background where the ship icon is. I noticed that draconis sniper has purple background as well, even though it ain't a rare ship (maybe it was intended to be.. dunno). If that's the case, please SS add the armor bonus. ^^

No in Draconis the sniper is an "standard" ship cause you don´t need to search for the BPs (you get them after completing the mission). Maybe split still haven´t found an colour which they could use for the sniper or whatever...
