PTR vs Live Drop Rate Tested

Today I went to Molikar on both PTR and the live server and killed the same mantis in the same spot to see how the drop rate that was supposed to be improved - actually was.

The results are interesting.

Killed 25 Harves

Live: 2 harv cry 6 interceptor cry 1 bp drop from interceptor
PTR : 3 harv cry 5 interceptor cry 1 bp drop from interceptor 1 cry/bp drop from interceptor

I do not see a significant difference here.



Killed 100 random mantis in same areas

Live: 25 cry 8 bps
PTR :19 cry 3 bps No cry/bp drops

I DO see a significant difference here. But not the one I would hope for.
BTW I only picked up bps that I already had and they were not "pieces" of blue prints, they were the whole thing.


Now I could be wrong... but it was my understanding that the bp and cry drop rates were supposed to be increased under the new loot system, not decreased.

strange, i replayed vega and made a significant more cryonite, I am now a rank 16 antares pilot and have now 1000 cryonite and the aurora harvs give good cryonite. Only thing i could complain about was the collector bp droprate, very bad.

If you get a BP you already have then it doesn't show how many piecesyou need to collect since you already HAVE all of the pieces you need, but if you got a BP you did not have already then you'd need to get it in bit, on molikar it'll probably be about 13 bits and pieces for top bps on Moli.

Whilst I was on the test server I also found that the cryonite drops were much more frequent, I'd get periods on the live server where I'd get nothing at all and then everything would drop stuff for a fer moments... on this it's more a steady flow. instead of maybe one or two drop from a pack on mantis, now I get 4 - 5 and maybe a bp too if I'm lucky.

I did the same as pbhuh and found similar, from the perspective of a new pilot I think the system is much better though I got bored of getting lagged eventually and went off the server, i'll go on it again another time though ^.^

Well I'm just assuming that from what I was told, someone from Baumer said they needed 11 pieces for one bp taken from a rank 35 mantis and on the moon a protector from the rank 52s came in 18 pieces, this was yesterday

I regained trust in SS, i think this update is good, especially because the bp droprate from draconis was bad.

Only hive was strange, for some reason if you are in a rank 60 ship you get much faster bp's. I one-shotted a assasin and a bp dropped, BUT THE WRONG ONE!!! Same counted for a Signor. I HATE YOU MANTIS.

So i guess it will be better.

Ctmurphy, could you look on your bp list from the PTR2 and make a list for the blaster? Then I will add it to wiki.

I regained trust in SS, i think this update is good, especially because the bp droprate from draconis was bad.

there is nothing wrong with interceptors, they are good, but i am only not happy with droprate of harvesters, on aurora i had to shoot 20 rank 15 harvesters for one bp, however i only needed to shoot one interceptor.

When did you test today? I tested on hive myself and it is quite good much better than before.

Antares Lustra I found a bp I didn't had, pure luck, and it needed 4 pieces to get it complete.
I got lots of bp, cry, and bp+cry drops while I was doing a white bp mission.
I'd say the cry and bp drops was better now at ptr than before
