Before i make some critics: The re-design of vega system and the storyline is very nice work!
I dont like the new ui because of the placement of the mission and side panels. I play PG in a window with 1280x960 resolution so that i have left some place on my screen for other programs. If i do missions and have both the mission and the side panel open i can't hardly see anything whats going on in front of me. The upper area of the window is important for me for targeting enemies and clicking for short range navigation. I think the old place of the side panel was much more better (even that it sometimes overlapped the chat line).

im bothered by the panels too and the hub buttons topscreen dont do it for me aswell..
all functions <like warscore> we dont need as hub buttons..
bottom screen dashboard is ok imo.. but the techy hub buttons: 1. dont fit the rest of the lay out
2. new functions are not neccesary for ur flying screen and seems pointlessly in the eye of the player.

Kalabesh is still referred to as Vega 2 when you are first escorted to the planet, right after the tutorial.

-please drop the silly avatar faces. -i like when you can see the different ships instead, that is far more usefull

That reminds me, I also noticed that it still says "displays the player's ship" when you hover over someone's avatar.

the landing on kelabesh or what ever the name of the planet is after training still locks up and does not load the screen to start playing the game. it just sits there showing your ship on the planet, no movement allowed or nothing. Kinda hard to test it if it isn't letting you play it.

I have the same problem as others. Game locks up when first landing after hanger training.
Update.
After relogging multiple times and restarting comp it has now placed me in orbit.
However I have no mission tab showing and therefore am stuck in orbit with pop ups telling me to select mission board that isnt there.

Still can't try anything on the PTR.
I am in orbit of Kalabesh and it promps me to take the first mission Blaster Training.
However there is no mission bulletin tab showing at the place it tells me there should be one and clicking space bar has no effect either.

Amazon, you should not be in the orbit yet with Blaster train mission.
Right after you reach orbit, you will have a new mission in the mission tab.
Baiting Sentinels.
You can open the panel from upper right corner, there is a small indicator where to click.

Good work Splitscreen, a very nice improvement. Sadly it leaves Antares looking a bit unloved! Also it shows you the Admiral in the Antares opening movie, not sure if it mentioned him throughout Vega. Thanks.

Started with PTR
Got the storyline and went to hanger for training.
Completed training and was escorted to Kablesh.
Game showed me landing on surface, camera angle kept going down and then froze, everything about me was moving but i had no control of ship and no items bar.
Relog same thing.
Many re-logs still same thing.
Resarted computer, relog and it looked as if it was going to do the same then suddenly put me in orbit.
Mission announcement said take mission from bullitin board and said blaster training.
Indicator started showing me a circle at top right corner.
No tab where indicator shows.
Pressing the space bar doesnt open mission board either.
Hanger, starmap and planet surface are all showing locked.
The new ship looks nice though.......lol.

I will research, I am not sure if it will restore at all.
I locked it cause you opened up a new thread instead of posting in one already existing.
It seems I have to make a basic tutorial to forum users how to use the search feature and to not open up a new thread every time someone has an issue or question.
Please search first before opening up a new thread.
Easy to find if you use words PTR, you will see several options, and this one specially.
I will lock every new thread what is opened up at this forum if and when I have the knowledge there is already an existent thread on the subject.
I also want to remind every user to read or to re-read the Forum rules.
