Last night I went to Mars. There was nobody in orbit. Sat there a few minutes... nobody was chatting.
I'm thinking, Huh... That's odd, sometimes it's so crowded I have to announce that the coffee break is over and they need to get back to work.

I landed on the surface... It was me and um....
three other pilots.

I looked at my buddy list to see who was on line.... There were 7.
SEVEN PILOTS.

Seven people out of maybe 46. Seven pilots were playing PG.

Only seven.

Usually at the time of night there's a minimum of 14 pilots on my buddy list who are playing.
Today, one buddy, an Earth/Draconis player with a paying membership - will be removed from my list permanently, because he's quitting the game forever.

This is not good. I said before - that as the game stands - it will be difficult to decide if this household will continue to pay for four memberships. Because it's the people I will miss.

Well... Helloooo Split Screen....? I'm already missing them.

If this continues my decision will no longer be difficult.

I've always been impressed that Split Screen listened and responded to the game players.
Don't let us down, guys.

ridoi, I am familiar with the new updates.
But this one....

The cryonite loss formula was changed therefore lower systems don't lose that much any more.

....is the only one that really has the greatest effect on my game play. And even so.. what is the percentage of loss formula change?

It changes nothing with regard to the super mantis.. the AI... engineer issue, the still inadequate repair droids, levitating mantis, the sheer VOLUME of mantis, the turrets... etc, etc, etc.... and a number of other issues that have been brought up by so many pilots.
AND Pirate mode 2.0 has turned into - who has the biggest guns and most mates. PVP isn't fun any more.

My point is, players are voting with their feet.

I don't want to hear crickets chirping when if and when I go to Earth, I want to hear blaster fire.

well if you know it is many problems I didn't like as the new Pirate mode not every noob did like Pirate Mode 2.0 I will sure say it is OK like an system you can't turn off pm to you get podded by an another red rank 60 and higher that would really help guys
and cry drop really bad make it higher

I think the new pirate mode is actually pritty good, it's been about the biggest guns and how many friends you've got for a long time now even before Sol came out. Though I agree with everything else you said ^.^

and it's sooo quiet now O.O it's kind lonely almost O.O at 11pm at night there should be a lot of people on Solaria, but lately that's been dwindling. PG is slowly turing into ghost town O.O though it's not as bad as it is on Askone by far ^.^

With Draconis now out it's normal that the lower systems will now be quiet. Most of the help is there! Once pilots get to the Hive and get best normal bps I think more will venture south again. Mainly for GRINDING GREENS ^^ to pay for the BPs!!

However the lower systems sure seem dead of new players!

i have been in vega doing sms since yesterday afternoon and there really is nobody there. I have seen about 5 people below rank 10 in all this time.

I remember when i was in mizar sol had just opend and i got no help from any ppl in a´bout 1 month lol every one was in sol...

Guys, I'm not talking about the number of pilots in the lower systems, I'm talking about the total number of pilots playing - period.
Last night at 10 o'clock on Friday evening - out of my entire buddy list of 46 people, 6 were on line. I could clearly see that the majority of the 6 were in the Draconis system, but everybody else were not playing.

There's a reason why they're not playing. PG is not the same game it was two weeks ago. It's frustrating and costly. And what's the point of playing a game that makes you want to hurl the keyboard at the wall?

Speaking of costly... Now what if you don't have money to spend on the game?
I would suspect that the majority of players on PG are younger adults and teens who actually DON'T have cash to spend on boosters like cry protect, energy, and weapons upgrades. So, trying a mission 20 times and getting podded those 20 times costs an unholy amount of cry - and energy if you self res - because getting to the same spot is insanely difficult.

Unless the satisfaction level equals or exceeds the frustration level, there's no point in continuing to beat your head against the wall.

AND if you DO manage to complete the task and you end up being farther behind in E and Cry with each mission - the reward is what? You get to do yet another task where you pod more 20 times and are THAT much more behind in cry.

Wait, wait, wait..
You mean, the farther I advance in the game... the more aggravated I become... and the less I have?

And now I get to go back to the lower systems and grind grind grind to replace the cry I used to have to pay for the scant blueprints I just found - for a ship that I couldn't afford to begin with????

Sign me up for that!

i loged on today for about an hour and only 3 of my budies came online only 3! at the time this was posted there are usualy 10

Me too - today - 3 buddies. Though more did appear later, it averaged 5 to 7 all day.
Just so ya know, most of my buddies are level 60 or higher.

Which means the high level players are dissatisfied enough with the game as it stands - and Draconis in particular - to NOT play the game they so desperately waited for.

I was on yesterday for the 2nd time in a week (I used to play daily) and noticed the same thing. I've also been fortunate to meet some great people playing this game and of those people a handful have already said their goodbye's. There are a few more who haven't said farewell but also haven't been on either time (and these are also daily players that i could always count on seeing) so who knows what that means.

To be honest, I have yet to log on today. Normally that would've been the first thing I'd have done when I got home from work a bit ago. Now I come straight to the forum hoping for an update that the game has been made fun again. I may or may not log in to play for a while but if I do I won't be going to do sm's in draconis. It's funny because I used to really look forward to the story missions. I'm not afraid of a challenge but now they're so tedious and frustrating that I just don't care. I'd just assume try to find as many of my lower system rare bp's as i can before my membership runs out.

I realize SS is running a business, they made a product that I enjoyed so I didn't mind parting with a bit of my hard earned money to support them in this endeavor. Having said that, I can't say that I will renew my membership just to grind all day or attempt some sm that is only going to piss me off. I can also agree that even if the game did go back to the way it were but all of the free players I've befriended throughout had already left, I'd likely leave too. I'm not going to pay for a game nobody else is logged in to.

For now, and fortunately for the new PG I have yet to find a game that I like as much as the old PG ...and almost 2 months before I have to look a little harder
