Having been offline for quite some time, I recently became aware of new rules surrounding Vega. I consider the new PvP conduct regarding Antares and beyond tech venturing into Vega and preying on the newcomers quite refreshing. However, it has come to my attention that as a rule, these higher level players are not allowed to fire back at the Vega players whilst in other system ships. Though this seems harmless, as most can just afterburn away and orbit without much trouble, the underlying issue is mischief on behalf of the newcomers.

An example occurred to me just a couple days ago, when two buddies in Vega ships attacked me whilst I was gathering energy. The highest level player of the attack was a level 85, and a clan commander. He informed me that he does not scan players in PM, and prefers to flat out attack if he sees red. I was not aware that this practice was common, and is some cause for alarm regarding players who do not bother to see who they are fighting.

So what are the higher levels supposed to do if they are pursued, or even harassed by the Vega ships? A high or low level player can easily taunt and goad players into attacking them outside of conduct. I, for one, do not take kindly to being shot at, especially multiple times by different people, so my first reaction is to, obviously, fire back. As it would be against the rules to do this, I would have to afterburn, and leave the area. I find this to be highly irritating, if not unfair to those of us who just want to get done, what must be done. I come to Vega to help out my friends, and to hunt for those elusive Rare BPs; not to ruin the day of some hapless newcomer. Even so, some other players are not so kind, and having a target that is obligated by the rules to NOT FIRE BACK is pretty tempting.

In most cases, I would rather not pod someone, because I know how it feels to stare at the screen with disappointment as my ship explodes. Sometimes, though, this can't be avoided. If any Vega tech player is so inclined to be a troll, they could easily harass the higher level players and goad them into attacking, potentially getting them in trouble by taking a well timed screenshot. I'm just saying that it being a rule to not fire back on an attacking Vega ship, when the fight could easily be avoided on their part, is highly unfair to those of us who just want to grind. This could eventually become a problem in the future, if there are those who would be willing to cause others such misfortune, and believe me, this is the internet, there are always people who are willing to be the bane of others' existence.

Well i think i would have done it so that i shooted the Lv 85 player, when he didn´t stop the attacks after some moments, cause he is no "newcomer" of the game and knows the rules and wanna try to use it for his "advantage".

Every other player which is at least so far to reach Gemini is "save" before me when they shoot for 2 or 3 rounds. When they continue i normaly ask them what they are do. When they then still fire at me i say that they should stop it cause otherwise i will shoot them. In the normal case does most players then stop their shooting and the theme is done for me.

But like said if an highlevel player would do it an i see that he won´t stop i normaly don´t talk to them and just shoot them down after the 5th round of shoot no matter if i sit in an sirius ship, antares or something between this systems.

For a player in higher ship and tech, there is no need to go to Vega with PM on, you do not get any xp from it, and if you are just, so to say grinding for rare bps or helping out mates, you can perfectly do it without being pm on. If you can avoid, do it, and no one will troll the rules using you as target.

In the other hand there are these Draconis missions what makes you fly to Vega, this is totally different matter, cause they are just doing the mission there and as soon done they are off, and no need to remain on the system for longer with pm on.

So best you do if you plan to go do these things in Vega in higher ship and tech is to get rid of the problem, aka get rid of your pm, and you will not have mosquitoes shooting at your behind.

That is only a viable solution if you are able to turn PM off!!!

I say either, use area weapon on mantis in the area...(Aggro, rockets, Droid..etc.)
Or give fair warning in chat then enialate the the pest (s) if they do not take heed :p

It should not be a problem to know by now for a higher player how to turn the pm off, I am sure there will be players who are willing to help with that.

Do you mean annihilate? In that case you are proposing to kill the one who is shooting the target in Vega ship/tech, you are inciting to break the Vega pvp rule.
Not a very clever suggestion or advice.

I agree with doing the grinding in proper ship and tech, but I still stand stronger with the option of getting rid of pm before even landing in higher ship/tech on any Vega planet, even before entering Vega system.
Proceeding that way, there will not be any attempt of higher players in proper ship/tech shooting at you, nor provoking anyone to shoot back and with that breaking the rules, would not have any screenshots, any reports to turn in.

Why don't be more clever than those high players who does that, they will be left out of any opportunity to do anything against anyone on Vega.

Of course the way I see it the rule about harassment extends to all systems in the game, so depending on cases such provocative actions by high level players in proper tech can as well be reported, that is if they insist in following a player, even if they move away, and they keep on shooting at a player.
What can be done here is to of course warn them on your behalf, and if they don't listen and continue, you can always take a video, or/and screenshots with timestamps to prove they are actually following and doing what they do on purpose.

But there you also have to be careful to not provoke anyone just in order to get a report on players, remember to include also your part of the discussions in screenshot what will be added to the report.

But the best is as I told earlier, don't give them even any chance for anything, and get rid of pm if you must use higher ship/tech on any Vega planet.
