Overhaul to Energy Collecting!

We've all had it happen before.. you go on a kill mission, or perhaps you are grinding- and all of the sudden BAM, you have NO energy left!

This can cause much pain for old and new players alike, especially when they don't want to spend a good ten to fifteen minutes farming the energy fields (especially when they have to compete against other players to get said energy). Not to mention I doubt a membership would help at this rate- sure, you get eight times the energy.. but doesn't that mean you take eight times as long to get back to full capacity?!

Here is my suggestion for energy collection:

- Set Energy accumulation per orb to (Rank x 10), regardless of planet.
- Players rank 1-9 acquire double energy (x2) per orb.. to sort of ease them into the process.
- When hovering in orbit/landing at hangar you regenerate Energy at a rate of (Rank x 1) per 15 seconds.
** Such a low rate will ensure that energy orb farming is still the best way to gain energy.
- Members will gain a multiplier to energy orb collecting/regeneration based on their membership type.
** Standard x1.5, Advanced x2, Elite x3

So, a level 10 pilot will be able to acquire 100 energy per orb at any planet.. be it Lysis or Vega 1. With a cap of 1050 energy you would only need 11 orbs instead of the current 35 orbs to max out your energy.

With an Elite membership, that same level 10 pilot would get 300 energy per orb at any planet, and with the 8x increased capacity would only need 28 orbs to max out their energy instead of a whopping 280 energy orbs with the current system (assuming that even with an elite membership you would only get 30 average energy at planet Lysis).

Thoughts? Comments? Additional Input?

Ok, first of all, the energy is going fast, I am rank 61, and i can get my energy in 5-10 minutes collecting energy.

The problem is the rate of energy balls, PG is still based on not so many players, as the game grows and grows, everything stays the normal size. This will get even harder, so SS plz give us more energyballs.

Another suggestion is for the new players a much faster collector, in the begin it's hard to collect energy because it takes a really long time. After you pass antares it goes faster in vega and antares, but still gemini is low, etc. The sol players now will over a few months have problems in draconis. This is PG.

I think these are good ideas, but maybe if you reduce it to Rank x 5.

I don't know why people keep on saying 'use a better collector'.. but it's getting annoying - I am using the BEST collector for my rank and it still takes AT LEAST 5-6 minutes of hardcore energy farming on Lysis with no other players around (which is btw the planet recommended for my rank [10], considering everything there is rank 9-10 as well!) to completely max out my energy.

Do you know how long it takes using the best equipment for your rank to lose all that energy?

9-10 minutes- USING ONLY YOUR BLASTER AND REPAIR BOT. With the use of afterburner and shield you're looking at least 7 minutes of play time before you have to trod off back to the energy fields.

You're spending 33% [best case scenario for current energy system] of your game time following shiny orbs around and I can't help but wonder why people think this is a good thing. Could you imagine an elite membership with 8x energy cap? You would spend far more time energy farming than actually playing.

Could you imagine competing against five other players at an energy field even? There's only 25ish orbs at any given time. It would take MUCH longer to fully max out your energy...

I know energy farming is a time dump but it shouldn't be THAT painful.

Sure we could limit my suggested system to Rank * 5 for energy points per orb, but just remember you need twice as many orbs- significantly more- in order to max out.

By the way.. I doubt the developers of this game would want to place more energy orbs/fields... a sea of blue is what they'd need to create in order to fulfill the energy requirements of an increased player base.. this game isn't Pirate Energy Orb Gathering Competition! Which is what it currently feels like in my opinion.

when ur rank 57 using lvl 53 blasters then ur e is gone 3-4 minutes after u'v collected any

ok the higher the system the quicker it is to get e, so much so I dont need a top notch collector in like Mizar so I can save alil cryo. I havent run out of e since I was in the old vega. In Mizar I only spend at very max if I completly killed my e 15 er so mins getting e on baumar at the low end fields.

Btw in vega you should learn where e fields are and stop at them at good pausing points in the missions, I havent gone below 1000 E since I've made Mizar(even when I've been farming in the vega system)

Well i agree with commandercody, if a sol ship, what rank 45 or 60 wants to go to earth, then he has to load a lot of e. But it's true that on Earth they placed the energy fields better what makes it easier to collect.

But the best thing would be a minimum of an energy field, like 10, there are then always 10 E-orbs, when someone collects one of the 10-E-orbs, they respawn at that moment. ofcourse the normal will also grow

why not have energy streams rather than balls constant flow of e same collector cool down etc . or even a ball that regens more rapidly if not constant . does any one not also play the e mini game judge the distance between each e in time with collector cool down ?

People people, if you are too lazy to spend 5-20 Mins getting energy and dont wana buy it then please, this game isnt for you.

Btw once you get to Gemeni (or even the south-east parts of Lustra for that matter) getting e really start becoming easy as long as you know where there is e where a DS wont pod ya
