New ship type: Heavy Gunships

just another ship type idea but it would be cool if u could ge Heavy Gunships, these Gunships would be able to go as more of an escort and attack ship, unlike the other gunships (Storms) these gunships have thicker armour and a slightly slower top speed.

Heavy Gunship conigaration:
1.Blaster

2.Collector

3.Repair Droid

4.Afterburner

5.Rocket Pods
Rocket Pods r like normal rockets but fire 4 times as many rockets which deal twice the damage thab odinary rockets but also suffer from less accuracy, usauly 2 out of 4 hits its mark.
6.Point Defence Lasers
Point Defence Lasers r capable of defending the Heavy Gunships from Rockets, this lasts for 30 seconds with a 45 second cool down.
7.Tractor Beam
The Tractor Beam is useful for slowing a target down, however it will not slow the ships recharge rate.
8.Phased Cloak
The Phased Cloak is used to let the ship escape from hostile forces, the only downside is that u can't use any of the equipment on the ship
And if there will be a ninth item to a ship
9.Fire Control Computer
This computer is affective in large scale encounters, any allied ship in range of the FCC will have sinficantly increased accracy, this will also improve the accracy of the Heavy gunship as well

how about a sort of gatling blaster ?
Smoke bomb maybe ?
Detachable gun turret ?
Radar jammer ?
Concusion or flashbang rocket or bomb ?
Increase or power transfer to other systems for example faster fire rate but takes away ab or vice versa for escape .just some offensive weapons I'm not saying put them all on would be to much .I like your ideas just thinking about what you said

ok, but we can always design new heavy gun ships, but i think it would be more cooler to create a second engineer,

maybe with this weapon:

Heavenly Repair

A blast out of heaven that creates a blast of repair on your target.
(bit like the orbital strike)

yes,

maybe we can think about more,

repair virus, will infect many ships and activate after 15 sec, and repair. ^^

i personally like the heavy gunship idea...could also maybe put an aggrobomb slot on it to make it even more mantis owning, and that way it wouldn't just be on a tank ship, you could have it on an attack type ship as well.

AnIn-2500 Light Gunboat

The AnIn-2500 is the most powerful ship to have been constructed, but flaws in the design meant it was weak on there own. There main roll was as an escort ship, but was later dispatched in the counter attack on the mantis 2 days after the fall of Aurora. Ever since the ship was used by the Colonial Gaurd to defend Construction ships.

AnIn-T54 Heavy Gunship

The Antares Industries ship was to be created for the defence of the Antares System, it was slow but powerful, used as a long-ranged escort and capable of supporting allied ships in large engagements, the AnIn-T54 improved on the design of the T54 series of gunships.

GC-5 Fusion Gunship

The Fusion Gunship was the last line of defence for the Gemini Defence Force before Technatoria blow up, the ships blueprints were recoverd by lone pilots heading to Mizar were it was dropped of at the Gemini Starbase. The ship incorparates Phased Cloaking technology used by Detonators, who would whather blow them selfs up than use it.

MST-FF5 Fusion Gunship

The more improved MST-FF5 Fusion Gunship incorparates enhanced surivability, able to take 8 mantis at a time and using an advanced fusion genarotor makes this the most feared ship in the Mizar System. However the ship can also function as a Fighter/Bomber escort when needed.

I think this is a very good idea, but maybe if it was more able to funtion on its own, then more people might buy it for the firepower.

It has Heavy Armour on it's side and would probably be able to draw with a Tank

here's a couple more ^^

STAM-R Speed Gunship
The first of the Antimatter gunships, the Speed Gunship offers more survivability and higher speed then the MST version, it also incorporates the powerful Fire Control Computer, allowing it to increase squad mate's accuracy as well as it's own.

STAM-S AM Gunship
Significantly upgraded from the STAM-R version, incorporating heavier armor, but slightly slower, this ship is the ultimate weapon of destruction in the Sol system, it has more kills to it's credit than any ship ever built, earning it's nickname "The Death Bringer"

Ok quick question, how long does the cloak last and how long does it take to recharge? If u can use it forever till u use one of ur other components it better use either allot of e or have a very long recharge time or a mix of both. Ah ha I got it! You can use it as long as u want but per minute it uses 60E (one for each second) and 100E to Activate, to keep u cloaked and for every minute you use it, it takes 30 seconds to recharge, if you use it for no more then 59 seconds it will take 1 Min to recharge.

Ok but lets add like another ship, (X-?)STAM-Shadow. It is weak in armor btw and will can be unclocked by use of stun dome, and will show for a second by arrgobomb.

Arrgo-Shock Bomb - A bomb that when detonates will cause ALL ships arround you to take 20-40%, it also causes them to move away from you in the blast, they will also get even more damage if they hit a wall or another ship. In addition to that it causes a 5 second stun to them unless they have any shield activated, thus its best to tell ur allies to shove on the shields before you press the red botten. It uses 300 energy and takes 5 mins to charge.

Rocket Strike - A twist on the Orbital Strike and there are 2 options for how to launch it:
1. When you activate it you click your own ship, then it will target 5 ships near you and launches 10 rockets each of them at them, they each cause 5% damage so if they all it him, he can take up to 50% damage but if he afterburns he can escape the attack. Also uses massive amounts of energy and takes 5 mins to charge. If there are not up to 5 ships near u it will attack the ones that are and the Bombard a short radius around u with whats left

2. When you activate it you click the area you want to bombard, it will Launch 50 Rockets that will cause direct hit Damage and afterblast damage for 5 seconds, it had a mid-range of damage, not quite as large as the Orbital Strike but has more damage.

Enhancing Computer - Capable of increasing aim (thus chance of a critical hit), Personal Speed Acuator, and Preferator thus allowing shields to be avoided at the same time. Uses 300 E and lasts 5 Mins, takes 15 Mins to charge.(Its gotta have a backlash :mrorange: )

Note: You will come uncloaked if you use any components other than your afterburner, rep droid, or collector.
Note 2: If you are collecting e others will be able to locate you and lock onto you.
Note 3: You must be in PM to turn cloak on.
Note 4: These are non-critical hit stats, rockets kill u if they all get critical :mrorange: :mrorange:
Note 5: Anyone think this should be a new ship class (rare or non-rare?) starting in Gemeni or Mizar?

I would say, Rocket Strike, a distance weapon that also only work on a big distance, it shoots 50 rockets from your ship to a target on your map to create major damage.

Enhancing Computer, combo of a Perforator, Aim Computer and a Speed Actuator. Of course in a easier way.
