Nope, I do it on Solaria. Had a fight with Apollon on Molikar LZ, first Orbital strike I used it didnt go off and I thought oh. its a dud, then it just took out half his hp. Half hp on a Draconis armoured ship, and it happened when I was trying to get top earth BP for someone who I forgot the name to and the orbital did the same thing that I used on a DS, the ricochet hit the harv with a crit almost killing it in one.
