How many players find the pirate achievements almost impossible to complete? Granted, it appears that some, like Mizar, can not be completed because of some bug. But, I am talking about Drac pirates.
Does anyone else find it extremely annoying when you go into pirate mode for Gemini missions only to find that a Drac pirate with a defender has mined the the LZ. I saw this today. It is so annoying. Some will say "Red is dead!" That is the stupidest response I have ever heard. A pilot in a lesser ship, with no bounty! What is gained by podding this person. All that is done is that this pilot becomes very annoyed, especially if he has purchased energy. Eventually this person will stop his/her attempt at the pirate achievements and buy less or no energy at all or quite possibly leave the game all together. Where does SS stand on this really. See, now we are talking money! I for one have children that play this game. They are generally forbidden to go red because I will not waste money buying energy just to be podded by a player with a higher system's tech. I witness GMs dealing harshly with those players and I have to praise their actions. Thanks!
Now for a suggestion. Why not make it so a "pirate" can only land with system tech or less. That way, these Drac pilots (I won't even call them pirates because pirates, although dastardly at times, often show courage, not cowardice) can pod reds to their hearts' content, or at least until they themselves are podded by a better player. This is kind of like sinking a dingy with a battleship. Not much courage or pilot skill involved here, now is there?
