first of all, hello everyone! I didn't imagine my first post in this forum would be about a problem, but here I am... :LOL:

i've been playing pirate galaxy for about 3 days now. just this evening I tried running the game, but it won't go past the game loader. like the screen with the logo and where "login" and "register" should be doesn't have those two buttons. now i've tried downloading the client, figured it may be a browser issue. but i still get the same problem. i've already disabled my antivirus software, tried the repair thingy from the pirate galaxy folder and restarted my laptop a few times over but i can't seem to get that log in screen. any solution would definitely be appreciated at this point. :p

i've also gotten in touch with their help desk. the guy told me that i probably have to uninstall both the client and java. now im not that computer savvy and i have no idea how to reinstall java after taking it out. here's a screenshot of what im currently looking at for the past hour or so.

To update java go to: http://www.java.com/en/

Can you give us the console output for java please it looks for us like something is stuck there.

You can get it by going to control panel->java->extended->java console->show java console then restart the game and wait till you are stuck then copy the output from the java console and send it by email to support@pirategalaxy.com or post it in the forum.

Also beside of doing that can you also try to download the client and test if playing from the client works. http://client.pirategalaxy.com/PirateGalaxy_Setup.exe

Adrana: thanks for the link, but i've already checked it before posting my concern. i've already asked my friend (my ex actually) if he can look into it for me. so far we've already tried these things:
-turned off windows firewall and AVG
-cleared offline storage through tools>options>network>clear now
-updated java
-cleared recent history and restarted laptop
-ran CCleaner and restarted laptop
-installed client
-uninstalled then reinstalled client
-tried bargaining my soul to my new Mantis Overlords in exchange for play time

the notes above were done by him so i don't know what most of those things even mean, except for the last one. i tried it when he left.

actually, i was able to play last night, if only for just a couple of minutes. when i logged in, i was logged back in as a pod and i couldn't even highlight any of the other players or mantis with my left mouse button. someone told me to reload firefox and i did but it ended up with the same stuck screen again. :(

EDIT: sorry for the long post. i didn't know that the log notes would be that long. :D

okay, well i've had someone update java for me and it showed a different logo for java when the game started loading, but i still have the same problem. :(

-i´m not a computergenius but i think that i have read somewhere that there are problems with firefox and games, (active X?) -have you tried IE8? -best luck:)

UPDATE: still nothing. i don't know what's wrong with my laptop. i can play other online games without any problems. it says here my internet connection averages 1.63mbp/s. and i don't think it has anything to do with my video card or my OS. i guess i'll just have to wait tomorrow and have someone look into it... :(

-actung!!! -you have to edit out the names of these games! -you are breaking the rules of this forum, and there are moderators here that are taking this very seriously:! - (but i think that you are allowed to use abbreviations?;) -did you try another browser? (internet explorer) -EDIT. -ok. -i hope that some of the genius here can help you, it shure sounds strange:! -i´m using vista and IE8 on a laptop too, and play full screen with the gameclient without much problems. -maybe it´s a portal problem? -i hope that you find a useful solution:)

wow... for some strange reason the game started up. was able to log back in. almost 2 days of trying and it just magically worked. funny thing was i was about to install a client for another online game i just finished downloading. what're the odds of that happening? :D

EDIT: oh god.. this is sooo depressing. the game gave me the poor network quality screen while playing, and my ISP was doing 1.32mbp/s! logged off and tried logging back in and now im back to that same old screen. i probably just need to call it quits :(

only 1.3 mbp/s? I get 4 mbp/s at my lowest. you internet speed is likely your problem.

wow, seriously? now it's my ISP's fault? you can probably run your whole town with your internet and i couldn't care any less, but i'm pretty sure that my ISP just having a measly gig of connection isn't the problem. it shouldn't take that much to run an online game.

EDIT: i'm sorry if i came out as arrogant. i'm so frustrated and i just wanted to play so bad. the last thing i need right now is someone making petty assumptions that frankly just don't make any sense.

hmmm loading problem can happen if u got low network that means less then 1.0 Mbit/s

He is staff and as such, can view any ticket. all he needs is the ticket codes to ensure he is looking at the right ticket.
Keep in mind that when someone says to PM them, they mean to send them a private message. clicking the link on the top of ur screen (_ new massages) will take you to your inbox in an email like setup. That is the private messages.

Hey Starcasm,

we found the problem. What is happening is that your antivirus program or Firewall or some Security Tool or setting is blocking the connection to the server therefore the data can't be downloaded that is needed to start the game. Please check your programs/tools and adjust them so the connections for Pirategalaxy can be made.
