Is this really Java?

Playing Pirate Galaxy and enjoying the visuals, combat, and interactivity as a whole, I just have to wonder aloud. "Is this really java?"

I'm a gamer that's been around the block plenty of times, when I think of a game written in Java, I picture a low quality trash game with plastic music, poor animation, and an embarassing community. When I played Pirate Galaxy for the first time, I almost crapped my pants.

The communication does not suffer from delays, the visuals both in combat and off combat are stunning, combat itself can get pretty intense, PvP is on a fair flag basis (save for Conquest and certain systems), the music completely fits the environments, and the community isn't (entirely) full of scrubs!

I respectfully assume that Split Screen Studios busted some serious balls to make this game. This is (pun coming) light-years above and beyond my norm of Java games. I just wonder, why are there only four servers? Spread the word on the street, start a cult, pass out flyers.....which reminds me, does anybody know if there is any Pirate Galaxy merchandise? Hats, T-shirts, Hoodies, Keyboards, Mousepads, Posters, that sort of thing?

No there isn't any commerce yet, might happen in the future.
Thank you for you lovely critic this is what we need, this is what the devs needs to read for to keep up with their great work, and coming up with even more stunning ideas and graphics.

This is exactly my view of this game, I don't care about bugs, they are to be reported and will be fixed, I don't care about other issues cause I know they are working their butts off for to make this game work as intended and for the enjoyment of us all.

This is why I have been infested with PG superglue what keeps me going on and on in this game, I still feel joy even after I have completed all history line missions, I can still find a lot of stuff to do, amongst them give good guidance to new players for them to learn to melt in to PG community and game world.

Have a wonderful time in PG and maybe we will meet one day ingame, you never know. ^^ :mrorange:

CRIPES GUYS! I'm not sure what to say... that might be a first for me.

...them dev's deserve serious props. I'm not sure if any of the MMO's I've played did that...
Then again, maybe one or two did... but they were nothing like this!

Yes it really is, and therefore it is very important to keep your java engine up to date for PG to work properly on your computers.

And because it is java, it has it's benefits and also more importantly, it's limitations! We are taking Java to seriously different levels here and our devs really have to think out of the box most of the time.

i was nearly floored byt the graphics the moment i first logged on as well, and i am still impressed and sometimes amazed at how damn good looking the game is sometimes, like when i let a rocket loose on 30 interceptors or am in orbit over molikar or lustra. great work people, and keep it up ^^
