I am level 15 but can't see level 10 ships to buy

Hello,

I am level 15 but am unable to see the level 10 ships so that I can upgrade -- why?

I was also helping a level 5 and he couldn't see the level 3 1450 ship -- same problem?

I have explored all the planets, and 1/2 way thru story missions (I think) and most of standard missions.

What conditions do I need to see and buy the ships?

When do you join the colonials? I am at "Traitor Eradication".

No, you haven't unlocked the 10 ships yet by then.

Don't you need to fly to Colossus to unlock the Lvl 10 ships?

That was in the earlier version. Now you need to join the colonials to get the blueprint for 2000 ships.
