Now Hold On Just A Minute . . .
Okay, I am the last one anyone would expect to stick up for the GM's but I guess somehow common sense has to raise it's sorry head and look around for a minute.
Even if the GM did do as you suggest and gank up the server for a quick episode of kill the player by dropping gobs of mantis on Vega 4 . . . Do you really think his intent was to screw up the server? His intent may have been to make a few players scramble for cover before they were podded, but I doubt the intent was ever to send our server to bugsville.
Now, if this incident is the cause of the US server being reduced to a boat anchor somebody needs to fess up and tell all us poor unsuspecting players that such is the cause of our distress, as all of us are borderline suicidal with PG withdrawals from not being able to get on the server to play. And, there is the matter of the loss of not less than 8000 cry to failure of being able to play the CQ's registered by my clan, probable losses to every active player on the server due to restoration from backups may include crystals, blueprints, and more. If such is the case, and a GM was the one that caused the problem . . . Boy, I betcha he is catching it from all sides right about now. His boss is giving him the blues. His co-workers are suggesting he get a job on an assembly line that doesn't require use of his brain. And, players are nagging his ears off.
Regardless of the end result, I would suspect the GM guilty of trying to throw a little excitement our way. I would not suspect him of any intentional act to interrupt or hinder our game play. So, cut the GM's a little slack. They are usually quite helpful during their daily activities. And do not forget , most these guys are volunteers that accept the responsibility of the position while having to deal with people like me in their ear all the time.
And GM's, I'll forgive if this the cause, but SS better roll out the "crystal check book" because somebody needs to pay back the crystal loss suffered by my clan due to this incident. Not only were we uable to collect on the PG Birthday Cry Bonus, but we lost significant crystal to unplayed CQ's after payment of registration, and the subsequent Cry Bonuses we would have of enjoyed had we been able to perform the CQ's registered for. And, I don't want to hear Gamigo/SpliScreen Accounts double-talk . . . Pay us back our losses.
