This system is insane. We have been going at it non stop for a week. It has gotten so bad that my entire crew is being given a week at the liberty ship Groucho Marx. My crew is super excited about this. Before the war these were luxury vessels for the super rich. Now They are R and R ships ( R and R means rest and relaxation)
Only four more missions to go, And we get to enjoy ourselves. They just installed the mantis repellent device at each outpost so that may slow down the amount of calls to us. Once we leave they will be modifying our ship so that the Long Range guns don't target us during rescue missions on Molikar.

Well we are off for some well deserved rest now. Everyone is so excited they can't sit still.

Oh my stars and garters this ship is huge. I mean this thing requires a transport ship just to get from one end to the other. There are fifteen theaters here, Six hundred restaurants, And twenty casinos. And that doesn't include the spas. The best way to describe this is Las Vegas in the twentieth century.
Time flies here way to quick and so we head back to the front today.

Today was our first trip to Molikar and boy was it bad.Ten Marauders and a death squad at once.
Back to the grinder we go. One good thing is we will be part of the transport to the hospital ships now.
These are modified Conquest class ships. Every possible injury and illness can be treated there.
Plus the nurses are gorgeous to look at. We are the only crew in Mizar to get this duty so I feel honored. My crew loves these runs because no one shoots at us then. As for our ship the new core works perfectly. I just wish we had the new Molecular bonded structure for our frame. it is supposed to increase a ships strength by fivefold. Bloody Hell well that's the alarm again. Time to go will see you on my next break as the Colony ship gets nearer.

Part: 10

Molikar is a nightmare. Wrecked ships lay everywhere. But at least we are making headway here.last week sixteen crews were lost. This week we only lost eight. Rumor has it that i may end up in the Sol system. Sol just the name stirs something inside of me. I can only hope to see our home system let alone land in it.
But the final push for sol is on now. Operations have picked up greatly and everyone seems more on edge lately. We are one of the rescue teams assigned to operation weak point.

Good grief that was perhaps the costliest mission so far. Over half the pilots and one third of the rescue teams got shot down. But the cost was worth it. We broke the back of their manufacturing capabilities.
Now we hunt down Vicius and bring him to justice. I only hope to be on the team assigned to the mission.

We got the call today. In the morning we provide support for the mission.
All I can say is I was glad that we only had rescue duty today. I could not imagine fighting that thing it was a Colossus.Over one third of the pilots needed rescue today. At least we got him. Vicius won't be kidnapping anymore people from now on. And to top it all off we now have the Sol Astrogation chip. Now nothing can stop us from getting home. I hope to see the green fields of earth like the stories always talk about. Until then I will do the best I can to help the pilots defeat the mantis.

Well the order finally came through tonight I get to sol. I can't wait. As i left Mizar I realized ho far i had traveled so far. From my youth on the colony ship, to my enlistment, to getting my pilot license, to getting selected for S.A.R. .
I can only hope I will be able to make a difference here. As a side note I am up again for a promotion.
It came through mid transit I am now a admiral. who would have thought. Me an admiral? Someone must have been smoking something that day. But i am not going to complain. Oh me oh my we are here! I have finally made it to Sol I am so happy. As we left the star gate I get my first glimpse of our base. It is a asteroid. I am not impressed until I see the inside. Never have i seen a setup like this. and My new ship puts me at a loss for words. It is a corpsman Class ship. This ship has it all. Everything but the piloting is automated. And the pilots are enclosed in a escape pod while they fly. I love it and I even named it The Galen. Unfortunately I will probably be using it all to soon. One thing I hate about my new rank is all the paperwork. But on the plus side we don't lose crews as often anymore. Well I need to go I am exhausted now and have a staff meeting in the morning. I miss you and can't wait to see you soon.

Part 11:

My first call on mars came today. Talk about a nightmare. Four pilots down in five minutes. And to make things worse we have to use stolen id codes so that we are not tracked by the imperials. Wow and then there is the mountain of paperwork I have to go through. At least we only loose ships now except for the occasional pod failure. Even so we have lost a crew when i first got here but at least it was only two people. So far I have the most rescues without incident. On top of that I seem to be good at training and leading a crew. If this keeps up I may get sent back to Vega 2 to teach the new rescue crews. I hope not the boredom would kill me faster than the mantis.

Mars is pretty wrecked but at least the base is still intact. We ran into our first turret today, And it almost got us. Only the timely intervention of a storm and a armor saved us. Of course after that I had to spend over two hours doing the paperwork. I really hate Paperwork. But on the bright side I will be able to visit soon. I have just been authorized to use the admirals launch here. it is a modified Stam-R-Armor. Not aggro bomb but beefed up shields and afterburner. I will visit you soon.

What really scares me is the rumor that humans are being held captive here by other humans. How can that be? Could people really be working with the mantis and if so why? I guess I will find out later.

How sick can you get? I flew into the mine today and yes there were humans being held by other humans for the mantis. I hope those traitors all die a horrible death. And to make it worse they have the same ships as the mantis. I get sick just thinking of them. I won't forgive them ever.

You will never believe this. The princess herself was here today to visit our crews. I was shaking in my boots the whole time. she even inspected our ships. I was given the privilege of flying her from her ship to the base and back. What an honor. OH cripes not again be back soon.

Sorry had to rescue another pilot. If I make it through ten more missions I can get assigned anywhere I want.
I can not wait. The opportunity is so great. There are currently ten rear admirals in the S.A.R. corps. If I get through the missions I will become one myself.

We did it! We freed the slaves. Okay I didn't but I helped rescue the pilots who did so in my book that counts.
I did however get my filth kill in my ship today officially making me an ace. And as for the promotion It goes through in one month.

I made my first trip to the moon today. I am so glad I do not have to operate here. I watched six pilots get podded here in twenty minutes. I can only imagine what it will be like to do rescues here. But in three days I wont have to worry. I already know where I want to be stationed and have put in the request.
I only have to do three rescues on the moon and I have my pick of the systems.

What a day. Three rescues in one day. First we had to get a pilot over by the fortress. That was so hairy a mission it had dandruff. Second we had to rescue a pilot who was surrounded by signors. And then to top it off we had to brave a D.S. while saving a pilot, WHEW I am worn out but at least I get promoted tomorrow.

I finally made rear admiral today and have gotten my assignment to the Vega system. I am going to be in charge of the S.A.R. school there. I know you have been assigned there so this is my last letter to you I will see you soon and I love you sis.
