Due to the recent events a lot of players went thru with Gamigo I believe it is appropriate to ask the question: How do we get our accounts transferred to Split Screen?
I Know all that happened was not Split Screens fault but it could have been avoided had our accounts been transferred over to SS when they bought the game from Gamigo. So even tho Gamigo has fixed (or is still trying to fix) the problem we all went thru it still leaves us at there mercy should it ever happen again or if they go belly up over night. A lot of people have spent a lot of money and time on this game in good faith believing we are able to access the game and play it most of the time except due to updates etc but in reality we are at the mercy of someone else besides SS to be able to play this game. I really do believe that transferring our accounts would be a very wise business move because if what happened recently happens again I do not think everyone will be so quick to come back to the game or spend another dime on it. So it would be nice to hear from SS about having our accounts transferred from Gamigo.....Thank you

the simple answer is, you cant transfer from Gamigo to Splitscreen,
if you wish to play via the Splitscreen portal you would need to create an account through the Splitscreen portal

it is impotant for you guys to note that Splitscreen and Gamigo are 2 seperate companies so transfering the accounts is not an option that is available

Well then Morph.
Can we get explained to us how the sitiatuion between gamigo and SS really is?
What happened when gamigo gave up the game to SS and how are the pilots and their interests mentioned in the contracts between the two different companies?

splitscreen have always owned the game gamigo just used to run it for them thats all and after so long splitscreen took the running of the game back off gamigo our accouints dont need to be transfered from gamigo to ss all they need to do is ghoast or accounts and let the gamigo accounts rot in hell, and YES the accounts can be transferd like ss did with the bigpoint accounts BUT gamigo will not let the accounts go thus gamigo having a massive hold over the game since a large amount of the paying accounts in this game belong to gamigo

Well I find it funny that for example say a cable company buys out another cable company and your account gets transferd over to the new cable company..so to me this makes no sense. I still do not see why our accounts can not be transferred.

It is called "Intellectual Property". Gamigo owns all rights to their accounts & allows the People who created those accounts the right to use & play them provided they follow the Terms of Service which all Players electronically sign when creating an Account.

Splitscreen Studios owns all the "Proprietary and Intellectual" rights to all of their Games. They have "Licensed" these to various "Host Sites (Partners)" to promote and allow access (thru Accounts) to the games they have developed or are developing. The "Host Sites (Partners)" in return give you access to these games. Gamigo has been a "Host Site (Partner)" since PG 1st came to life in 2009. In March of 2010, Splitscreen Studios started "Hosting" their games as well, allowing Gamigo to continue "Hosting" Pirate Galaxy. Therefore Gamigo still retains all the "Intellectual Property Rights" to their accounts until such time they (Gamigo) decide to release this information to Splitscreen Studios

In the Computing World, you do not "Own" anything other than the Hardware in your computer. The Technology that went into making that hardware is not owned by you, but rather the Company that developed or made the Hardware.

In Software, you don’t own the "Intellectual Property" but are given instead a License to use that Software by the company provided you abide by the License agreement you agree to when you install the Software.

There is a lot more to all the Legalities involved in Transferring or moving an account from one "Host" to another. Since I am not a Lawyer, I will not go into these Legalities.

In the Business World when (as you stated as an Example), "Cable Company A buys out Cable Company B, all accounts are transferred", Yes this is true because Cable Company A has bought all the Rights to Cable Company B. They also have bought all Assets & Liabilities of Cable Company B. Therefore Cable Company A then owns all the Proprietary (Hardware), Intellectual (Software, Accounts, other Information) of Cable Company B".
