they have absolutely no point whatsoever.

Oh you can use them mat people... no you cant. You get 1 hit killed by just about anything.

they are useful for story missions. No they are not. if a mantis decides to go for you youre screwed.

in my opinion, they should have 2x the amount of health they do now, and even that wouldnt make them great.

Im just pissed off going to the moon in a lvl 45 ship and not being able to get anywhere without dying.

Also, they are the worst ship, but their bps are the hardest to get... makes no sense.

Just because you don't use engi doesn't mean that youre immortal. Actually, a engi just has a little less hp than a storm. A engi can withstand 12 blaster hits (changing from system to system) and a storm 14. Shock 18 and Tanks 22.

engis are meant as a support ship i think, for escort missions and cqs... i find them quite handy at times, and theyre a great addition to any squad.
i do think theyre a bit crap though
they need to upgrade the armor

Their protector is stun proof yea. If you increase their armour they would be very hard to kill at conquests. How would you kill a fleet of eng? Im open to suggestions.

Hmmm... While you say engineers are crap, think of it this way ... maybe Gamigo or SS or whoever started the engi design MEANT for it to be a backup only ship??? i.e. You are not supposed to do your own missions solo in it, it is only meant for backup help. This is entirely possible, is it not?

Yea Just Their Shield And then as Bill said they recharge again so you can protect yourself from the shocker's Second stun if its a Vega 1V1 battle. This may not work as well with other systems because you pod faster But that is The Case.
