Why can't the developers be more active on the social networks such as 2 developers of a very succesfull beta game are, the gamers there often know atleast a bit of what the developers are up to, the developers are very open and the gamers can't wait to see new content.

I don't say that the developers of PG should do exactly the same, but it would be kinda cool if the developers would use lets say facebook more often and tease us with new pictures, say to what they are up to, troll us by saying that the next system ship requires you to have completed all white missions etc.

It would make the game open, not as closed as it is at the moment.

And maybe before every large update, make a video so we see what we will be able to do in that update, give us some tips, ask the oppinion of the players for certain prices for ships so we can say if it's even possible to get so much cryonite.

Galaxy delta, Where did you get this 'information'?
Please give us examples proving your point, as SS doesn't regard us players with any higher regard then frogs so try to argue your point so they don't think us absolute idiots.

Now, to provide an example, I recently visited the forums of DO and noticed a peculiar reference: so called 'flaming'
After some searching I discovered that the definition of flaming included RANTING against the developers. After reading more of their forum (full of P2P arrogance btw) I noticed that the punishment for flaming is a severe ban. Sometimes permanent if more than one violation.....
Let me sum this up.
DO punishes their players for ranting by BANNING them.
That is cruel and unusual punishment, though, to be honest, it takes approximately six hours of gametime and 100 US dollars to become a veteran on DO.

And the DO devs actually provide the things ppl ask for (only for p2p folks but still) and ranting is banned from their forum!
My point is, SS developers do not listen to us anymore because half the time we are ranting!
However, i think some other reason is in the mix as well, there has to be another cause because blaming ourselves only helps us feel better. ^^
I do not think, however, that our devs are inexperienced, as galaxy-delta pointed out. They have had over two years and 4 games to figure this out, and computer programmers might be stereotypically slow at understanding other people, but they aren't ignorant. They will have figured this out by now, or else never.
So, fellow players, let's start talking civil. Me and the other veterans are still quietly plodding our way along, some have broken and quit cuz the game is going to heck in a handbasket, while the rest have just decided to weather the storm.
You new folks need to learn that the way to get through to the developers is quiet reason, not ranting. And contrary to popular belief they have listened to us before: the blaster change, the addition of gravitons and the second changing of the cq system.
I hope that one day the devs will release their emails to us, so we can personally email them our comments. Without ranting, of course.
Happy Hunting!

splitscreen devs are not experts in this kind of games like the other companies
Are you an expert to tell who is not, all personal who is working on this game as admins, devs they are not like on their first workplace, they have all lots of experience with previous work they been on, other games they been developing etc. there are just as much requirements for to be accepted in SS as in any other game.

If you do not know anyone personally, and you can't stand behind your words 100% it is better you do not say nothing at all about what you have no idea nor facts and right info about.

This is just the kind of post what makes the ugly rumors going around, but thats all what it is, rumors created by you!

*Standing Ovation*
Didn't want to do this myself because G-D is a good player and he has more experience than I do, but it was needed. Thanks Adrana.
But still, people shouldn't have gotten to where G-D is right now: FRUSTRATED

(lolol im still here ^^) The difficulty comes in where to start. I suppose the recent benefits towards clan wars and the like are a step in the right direction, but when your so far from your destination that the step is insignificant compared to the distance travelled, and ESPECIALLY since that distance travelled is only to get you to the point where you started off (August / September 2010), then it becomes nigh impossible to continue walking.

I think the reason that people are so exasperated with the developing team here is the fact that we keep making good progress in the right direction, steps towards what the game used to be, but then its almost as if one of the devs gets completely wasted and decides to roll back down into the hole we were just in.

There are so many hints of good ideas, concepts, and mechanics but there are a few that are such giant screw ups that as long as they are still standing, we cant get anywhere. However, it seems that as a community, we cant all agree on which one of these major flaws is most important, and so the forum ends up in meaningless complaints that get nowhere.

Perhaps we need to list the problems, not so the devs know what they are (if they dont, they must be blind) but so that we can put them in a hierarchical order and so that the dev team can target the real problems. Obviously this will end in quite heated debate.

There are too many pointless threads that address the problems with "achievements" or "individual missions" that have no effect on the game for the majority of players. We really need to stop, think, and decide what is really important for the success of the game.

/ not quite rant over :mrorange:

looool another spicy & useless threads by PPhub ^^

I've seen some threads to ask questions to SS and some are allready answered, so for ppl who don't listen to players.... ^^

and if I'm correct some nice teaser video where made and published in the PG facebook for draconis.

As some here allready said, some of you guys are frustrated for some reason, a thing I can understand, it has been almost a year since draconis released and sometimes we're a bit boring in orbit of hives

But don't make the devs responsible for this. In my opinion, there is to type of people in that case :
the lazy one, who don't have the will to grind enough
the one who grind enough but to know what to do next

So put your pirate mode on & fight!!!! ^^

There is always somethings to do, & blaming devs will not make it easier & faster.

Here's the short version: Stuff it.
Here's the long version:
Unlike some people who play PG, I and many others do not have oogles of time to commit to this game.
Oh, I have to grind for 100k? Since i can only play an hour or so a day, and i make 10k a day, i guess that means it will be 10 days for 100k.
Oh wait, i forgot. I have to grind for 800K! 8*10=80 DAYS. Thats two and a half months!
Do yall see where this is going?

Now, i do spend a little more than two hours avg on PG per day, and i can make 30k in those two hours, because I have worked to master grinding. However, many folk I know (Hyyppa, for one) have just decided to not go into Draconis because IT TAKES TOO LONG.
I agree. I just got my sniper's 5th blue BP from hive.....after 4 1/2 months of hard work. I feel wasted. I have spent over 1/4 of my total PG play time in the Draconis system, and I'm not FINISHED. Crazy, aint it?
So. Less time to grind would be fantastic. I could actually keep up with the rest of PG like i could in Sol and Mizar.

W

Whatever

SS team probably has their hands full with work on Steel Legions and Dino Storm hence the lower interaction with PG players. but it doesnt mean that there is no interaction at all. they did sent answers to our questions in Q&A with SS.

regarding rants about prices... people understand one thing - that issue (along with fragmented bp system) has been tackled already at least 10 times. i personally pointed out to these issues in several posts. we all know fragmented bps system isnt better, we all know draco is overpriced etc. etc. to but what choice do we have? you can either grind or quit - simple. ranting is futile. ;)

The Rage please stay on topic; there are plenty of other threads where that issue is discussed. lets not go into it here.

Yes I must agree here with Mered4.
The Rage I have been observing, and I see your off-topic spikes here and there.
As a long time user of this forum, you should by now know to not go off-topic on subjects,
also you should know the Search featured tool by now.

Please keep yourself within the topic, or please do not comment at all if you have no comments to add to ongoing topic on a thread..

That's the point.
I was rebuffing Uriel's post, not just ranting my head off. That is not considered 'Off Topic.'
What you started talking about did not have any quotes or anything to say, 'Im arguing with this guy'. It was just, i wanna have a trade system.
Also, I am a 'he.' ^^ :mrorange: ^^
Back to topic
Now, although these questions with SplitScreen were great, they didn't answer all of our questions. Kinda wish they had, especially the ones concerning draconis prices and the loot system.
On the flipside, I DID phrase my questions along the lines of are-you-glad-you-have-stopped-beating-your-wife. :devilish:
Needless to say, those particular questions, the DIFFICULT questions, were not answered.
I think that was a bad decision by the devs. By answering the hard questions up front, they would have shown themselves to be go-getters and earn at least my respect in this instance, no matter the answer. And, we wouldn't have to be left in the dark, wondering if the monsters are going to eat us.

This situation sounds a bit like the Cold War NASA Astronaut crews. They had a boss who would not give them a single word on what the criteria were for getting a flight assignment, the most coveted position in the astronaut corps. As such, the astronauts frequently joked about who the most likely group of suspects would be if their boss' car got car bombed. And they were half serious.
What the boss didnt realize was is that he had a group of people ready to swear undying loyalty to him, their King, if he would have only told them what he was looking for regarding flight assignments.
The result was a huge vacuum of information that killed morale and stirred up anger and fear in the astronauts. It was part of the reason for the Challanger disaster: The astronauts verbally pushed the flight schedule along so they could get seats. Critical warnings were missed, then BOOM. Challenger.

Now that scenario might be a little extreme, but I personally am a little tired of dodges and maybes. If its a NO, then come out and SAY IT. If you aren't sure, then say that, but say it without jumping around like you are holding a hot potato.

Dang, another 500 word post
I should use these in my English Comp class ^^

And again, youve gone off topic. You need to get better at this. ^^ If you want me to tell you why you got a warning, it is because Mered4 used what he was writing about and linked it in with a relevant argument. However, You just posted A rant that has absolutely nothing to do with Developers being open to the community. Therefore, your post is classed as off topic, and Mered4's isn't. If you want to rant about something like that here are my three steps to not getting a warning:

1. Create a new topic If there isn't already a topic on the issue you are concerned with.
2. Post in that topic about that issue.
3. Use paragraphs for FRACK's sake. No one can be bothered to read what you have written if they are presented with a wall of text.

There, Simples! :sneaky:

(Back on topic)

This comes back to my previous point though. People need to think before they go to these Q and A sessions. If everyone asked the same question, then SS would have to answer it. If everyone asks these benign questions like:

"I had cry it gone where it?"

or

"I podded. why is the game so unfair :((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((("

or, on an English server:

"私は言語を話すことができないと私は現在の経済状態について考えるものを伝えるためにこのサーバに来たので、私は馬鹿のです。"

(you get the point)

Then it gives SS the opportunity to dodge questions. If you want direct answers, ask direct questions, and get a group together to ask the same questions until you get an answer. This is where a forum where you can VOTE *glares in the general direction of which ever dev decided to ban polls* (Yes, I at least know exactly why you did that :frown: ) would be useful.

EDIT: On a Side note, Why is my pilot name MrSteve? rofl.

As lance wrote in previous post:

lance is absolutely right, Mered4 is sticking to the topic in form of argumentation of what was written, that is not off-topic, but instead yours was totally off-topic.

For your info, I actually read every post carefully before I edit anyones post or comment about something for any reason, I check, and I do re-check, it's not like I started this job yesterday out of nothing.
I suggest for you to do the same, check and re-check after you written a reply, if you are staying in topic, or outside topic.

Instead of you teaching me what to do, how to do, and when to do, go to yourself.
I am not practicing any favoritism on the forum for anyone, I recommend you to read better my posts, as you are stating:

force your own opinion and rules on others.

First of all, the users has their own opinion, and I do respect that, in no occasion have I forced my opinion to any user.
Now to prove your statement, I request you give us a proof of such accusation.
Get the proof, in form of screenshot or url, and please send it in to CM Astraeus,
otherwise if you have no proof to stand for your statement then this is the end of that discussion.
I am not taking any accusations lightly from any user.

you forever lock posts just cos YOU dont find it interesting or YOU think has no point too it
Unfortunately for you, I am not the only one who locks posts on this forum, I might be the only FM, but I am not the only one who sees bad posts, and has the tool to lock a post, or to remove from public forum.
If you feel that your posts has been locked or removed very often, I in your shoes would start to think where did this go wrong, Is LFM Adrana the big bad wolf here, or are you yourself stepping the line too often?
Ask yourself that.

this forum is for us players to discuss things its not here for you to decide what we talk about,
hows about you just leave peoples posts alone, unless they are swearing or name calling or threatening others then you have no right to jump in and tell me what i should or should not write, who are you to say my view is off topic???

This as any other moderated forum has rules what you or any other user has to abide by, therefore there are limitations of what you are allowed to write.
I have in no occasion told any users anywhere
for you to decide what we talk about(another statement of you what I request you to have proof on and send to CM Astraeus.)
Me as LFM, I am here to look over the hundred posts daily, read them through, and act with them as should, and within the rules.
You have any idea of how wild this forum would be if I
just leave peoples posts alone?
Also for your info I recommend you to read the Forum Rules, you can find them here:

http://forum.pirategalaxy.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16073
There are so many other rules than:swearing or name calling or threatening others

Now this Big question of you:

Q: who are you to say my view is off topic???
A: I am Adrana, the Lead Forum Moderator since 1 Year and 8 Months almost

My question to you:
Q: Who are you to tell what I can do, and to not do on this forum, are you my boss?

Well I will not give you the possibility to answer to that question, as it is rhetoric question.
I will now lock this thread, and hand this over to my "real" boss, and he can decide what to do.

For the thread holder, I am very sorry for locking, but has to be done. :sneaky:
