First off let me appologise if this is in the wrong thread, I wasn't sure where to put it.
I wanted to write some long winded descripive peace here about my first experiance on Dante (a conquest planet in the vega system) but i can be ***** so instead here are the reasons I think it s SUCKS and what I would do about it.
1. The conquest ship - OP or what?
Firstly I would give the CQ ships a line of sight, this would mean a more tactical approach to your movement of the ship.
Take away its after burners, matybe even make it move slower. this thing is so big it should fly like a brick on the planet surface, slow and cumbersum not due to lack of power but instead due to stress limits of the hull! This would allow a more intense close quarters battle for the smaller ships (squads).
Make them use the pilots energy but have it regenerate, they could also do with regenerating near by friendly pilots energy lvls.
the shields, I wouldn't take them away instead I would make it so anyone inside them would negate them. meaning the squaddies can get in close and hurt it hit an run style while the slow CQ of the enemy wouldnt want to be getting that close.
I would also make the weapons more powerful with a chance to hit based on size of ship and range, big chance of hiting a CQ ship little chance of hitting a fast moving war hawk maybe even with a lesser area effect added. I might go as far as making them have a close range limit so if your hard against it it can hit you, though I'm not sre about that.
2. Energy is hard to come by
I found my energy gone real quick with few low yeild energy fields, maybe this was intentional so you had to defend an area so your people could refill. Personally I feel energy should be more abbndant, perhaps through more feilds or perhaps through some kind of exchange from the CQ ship (an area effect arround it)
3. Landing Zones, more of them on a CQ planet, Im not sure because i wasn't in the CQ ship and always landed near it but for two enemys to share a spawn point is just wrong.
Please let me know what you think of about conquest and its set up, share your battle storys and call me an idiot.
