I was thinking that instead of conquest ships, we could have conquest bases. Not sure if anyone else has suggested this but here it goes.
When a clan registers in orbit for a conquest, a conquest base is spawned at some random spot on the planet. When the conquest starts you can choose to land near your conquest base, squad leader or some random place, kind of like it is now. The goal of the conquest is for your base to be the last one standing. This leaves you with several choices. Stay and defend your base from attack or head out and attack an enemies base. If you decided to head out you leave your base exposed, the conquest for you might be quickly over. Sending all your players out to help an ally may cause your base to be attacked, then you are out of the CQ and no longer supporting your ally.
It seems to me, a conquest like this will require more thought and planning. Thus making things more interesting.
