Colonial Pilot?

OK, so recently I was helping a friend back on Axiom, and every few missions we'd suddenly fail before landing from orbit, and Darius would say "You have a colonial pilot in your squadron! Remove him and try again!"
Now I finished Vega months ago, so I've got no idea what the new storyline is about - does this mean that anyone in Antares or above is a 'colonial pilot'?

Ha, lol, you can't do stories for the noobies on axiom or lyris, you can help them with the other missions, like behemoth etc.

You join the colonials in the mittle of the storyline. The first missions are so easy that they should be handled solo anyway.
