client launcher doesn't work

I downloaded the latest client setup and installed it on my new laptop. The autorun at the end of installer started the game correctly, but later when I tried to start the game by clicking the shortcut icon on the desktop it only prompted "the shortcut can't start the game". Also the game installation and even the splitscreen studios folder were nowhere to found.

Reinstall the client,also try instaling it on a USB or disc,maby you have a virus in your laptop.
Check if you have java and that the game is compatible to your laptop,make sure there is no firewall stoping your game.

Check if your new laptop has already installed java cause the game need it to work if isn't work plz run Diagnostic tool then contact us via support and attach the results from this tool at ticket's support then we can help you better

Before re-installing, please remove the vs you have installed first, then restart your laptop, re-install, do the Java medic test, and then try it.
Also check your graphic card if you have the latest vs, and all required drivers.
