can not land on planet?

my name in game is wizrob.

in orbit the game runs fine but as soon as i try to land on a planet and the game start to load up the planet the game just slows my pc down big time i can only move mouse icon a bit each time as it move then stops? i see lines all over the screen no ship or nothing?

i play 3D games on top graphics and all my other games work fine?

my pc set up is
AMDX24600 2.4GHZ
2.8GB HYPERX GAMING RAM
XFX7800GTX 256MB GRAPHIC CARD
RUNNING ON XP ALL UPDATED TO THE LATEST DRIVERS.

iv tryed lowering the graphics setting to the lowest plus iv tryed reinstalling and lowing res to lowest setting still gets it?

i have to use old nvidia display drivers version 182.08? i have had it where im using older drivers for new games and i have to update them but never had to go back to older drivers to get a game to work that is just going backwards?

to make the game look at it best i would think getting to run on the newest display driver would be a must for all its customers. i offered to help the support team to investigate the problem but they did not take me up on the offer?
