buddy has problems

i have a friend who is just started he plays off the browser he can start downloading and log in but when he gets into the game all he sees is setup at the top middle of the screen and the items at the botton of the screen look fine. but there seems to be a graphics issue where when he gets into the game there are bars and lines all out of wack. he can see stars and a ship out in the distance but other than that he cant play.
he gets an error message saying "signal strength low" he uses a wireless connecting. could this be a problem or is it his graphics card along with it.

Low signal is a good indication that something isnt going to load right and in this case, the java and graphics arent downloading correctly or fast enough. If your friend is on a laptop, have them go to a public access area with fast internet and try again. If everything runs fine and the graphics load then the issue is internet speed.
