Anomalous fluctuations

I appear to be noticing a sharp drop off in the BP drop rate immediately after dropping a rare. After a short while it seems to pick back up to what it was previous to the rare drop. Is this actually happening or is it just my twisted perception of reality? Could Johnny or someone else from SS answer this? (even though I can already guess the answer ) Is anyone else noticing this phenomena?

I am pretty sure it is not all in my mind. I have paid very close attention the last three rares I have gotten and the time rate of drops has gone down, so I know I am not imagining it. Question now is, has it been programmed that way or is it just coincidence and luck?
