The bottom line? Treat others as you would expect to be treated. It works for me. Obviously this is quite an adult line to take and one cannot expect the children to always behave in such a manner. Today's society has brought about the lack of values and to expect PG to be exempt from this is folly. as for the grown-up's involved, you should know better.

On a positive note, most of the nippy ankle-biters of today have short attention spans and so rarely stick at one thing for very long.

Well, I'm new here so I'm not really sure what this screenshot harrassment is all about.
I've read about "don't shoot the reds" too, but then why is there an option to put pirate mode on?

This is a game right, so if you get killed then so what? There are so many other games where you will often be the target of pk's.. So when you put pm on and get killed, take it lightly and move on.
Maybe though, there could be a system implemented so that much higher ranked players can't attack much lower rank players? But I don't know since there's much about this game I yet have to figure out.

Yes Heruva, you will learn with time. There once was a rule about podding low levels in Vega and Antares systems, you were not allowed to land pm on unless in system ship and tech, but that was not implemented by any coding, it was guarded by gm's, and supported by player reports with screenshots they send in as proof.

That was removed, and is no longer valid.

Now the new achievement system has implemented achievement points for to do missions with pm on, specially in squads, so now more people want to fulfill that part of it.

What everyone has to always remember is that it is everyones own risk when they hit that skull button.

Harassment can be explained like lets make an example, there are 2 enemy clans, 1 player in the other clan go grind solo on high level harvesters, and some enemy clan members appears, they start to shoot player 1's harvester so it will drop much more inters than when grinding carefully solo.
This will cause the player 1's death. Repeated this is harassment.

Dragging mantis to a known sm spot for to get the player who do the mission killed.

Pushing someones nervs to edges to provoke them to say bad words, then taken screenshots by the one who provoked, that is harassment.

A player following other player with purpose of to shoot the same mantis and take the kills and drops.

Players bullying one player verbally, but with care they don't break rules, with effect that the one they bully will burst out bad words what can be reported. Provoked aggressive behavior on a player.

Mostly you can use common sense to figure out what is real harassment, and what is not.
Also do remember that behind those player chars, there are real people with real feelings.

These above are examples, but what has to be followed by a solid proof in form of screenshots, or even video.

Adrana, common sense will probably solve many of these things yes.
Unfortunately there will always be conflicts, it's like that in every game.

I have yet to join a clan, but I'm wondering about the example where 1 clan member goes out solo.
What if 2 clans are fighting out a war? Is it not allowed to pod reds from the other clan?
Or do clan wars only apply to planetary control?

But you wrote down good examples and verbal bullying is of course out of line.

I love how Adrana says,
Mostly you can use common sense to figure out what is real harassment, and what is not.
as if common sense was actually common!

I, personally, think this whole thing is retarded. I agree with what tallon69 said about his other job as a mod,
they were suspended on 1st offense for 1 day, second offense was a permanent suspension.
that right there will solve your problem. If you take the person on the faulty side of the screenshot and on the 1st fault, 1 day ban and the 2nd time it is a perma-ban. It really reminds me of a quote one of my friends used to say(RIP)..
A child should be punished for wrong doing. If he continues to do the wrong deed, he wasn't punished hard enough.
which is true in every way.

P.S. On a super side note.. By saying
This post particularly applies to the following Clans & all the harassing they are doing to each other:
Are you not in violation of CoC rule #10 yourselves? Or are you exempt from that?

My name is InvisibleNinja, and I approve this message.

Children will all was be kidding with someone, and I knot it well I got a brother that got in very trouble even at this game...

But still I think the public chat is a stupid place, cus anyone can lure you to risk your own RIP! if anyone does soemthing very wrong and almsot risk perm ban, they should get IP ban form the chat to everything cools down...

Thank You Adrana your brilliant apparently people have been told by not only GMs but a CM that it is against the rules to pod another pilot on a mission or podding a lower lvl ship (apparently you get jailed for it)
but I don't believe a GM or a CM would say this as they know "What everyone has to always remember is that it is everyones own risk when they hit that skull button." this need to be set down and laid to rest people can not go around telling others "your jailed for that i have a Screen Shot" its putting alot of fun out of the game
Thanks ThorLegacey (SJ-XR3)

I have to say this topic is rather interesting... on the harassment side of things.

I dont agree with everything given as an example as to what harassment is. Game play is game play!! If someone goes about shooting harvesters that others are carefully shooting to control the intercept drop rate and it casues too many to drop and therefore pod the ones trying to control it... you call that harassment? Rubbish! It is game play, annoying yes, but NO ONE OWNS ANY MANTIS. It is simple MANNERS to leave pilots in such situations alone to carry on their endeavour.. . to consider it harassment is silly!

The ONLY harassment in game that needs action is VERBAL ABUSE or HARASSMENT! Typed words to someone of a nature that is meant and seen as harassing.

Leave game play OUT of it! Or it will get too ugly to control!

Some consistency within the GM facility would be nice. Suggest rather than have a players meet the GM's event, they have a GM's meet the GM's so they can all "sing from the same hymn sheet". :D
