If you are having Issues Logging into PG, Playing the PG or just Bad Performance from you System, Here are some things that you NEED to check on your PC:

1) Is your Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware up to date? - If not, you may have a bad case of Malware (Virus, Spyware, Root Kit) on your PC - New Malware Bugs are coming out every day & can very easily affect the way a game plays, a Browser acts or the way your Network Lags

2) Are all your Device Drivers up to date? - These are the Video Card, NIC (Network Interface Card) etc. - Outdated (Old) Drivers will affect the way your display looks (Video), cause Lag (NIC) or otherwise decrease your systems overall performance (Main Board - Chipset, Bios. etc)

3) Is your Operating System (OS) corrupted? - A corrupt OS is not always easily detected. Your PC may appear to be running fine for most things that you do, but when you get into really graphic intense applications a corrupt OS can start causing issues

4) Is your Hard Drive (HD) Fragmented? - ALL HD's will Fragment. The more a PC is used, the more fragmented an HD will get. Performance issues, OS Corruption, Device Driver Corruption can all be related to HD Fragmentation

I know yall aint PC Guru's but if you just look at the simple things on your systems as stated above, you may find alot of PG Issues you have are not due to SplitScreen Servers, the Game Software (SW) or the Game Databases (DB) but your own PC. If & When a Server or a Network has an Issue, it is alot more severe than what a PC will have & the difference is very Noticeable.

5) Try to see if any of your firewalls or windows firewall is blocking communication with the pirate galaxy client.

6) If you search your computer, you will also find a repair tool exe with in the pirate galaxy folder. This may also repair the game client if you downloaded and installed the client program. In Vista and 7, this is stored in C:\Users\******\AppData\Roaming\Splitscreen Studios\Pirate Galaxy\ . Replace ****** with your computer username.

7) Check that your computer can handle the game! Online games are more demanding that offline games and require a lot more memory. Your graphic card may also be struggling which manifest by the client suddenly hanging and then flipping through really fast in order to catch up with the server information that is being sent. This is called client lag and should not be mistaken for server lag.

8) Check if your connection is being shared or hijacked. If you are trying to play PG and someone using your connection for high bandwidth activities like downloading "videos", torrents especially seeding, streaming TV or movies etc; your gaming experience may well be significantly impaired.

9) Check to see if you have a good Data Transmission. Many WiFi (Mobile Wireless) Connections, Modems, Dongles etc may show great signal strength but have poor Data Transmission rates. 1 way to check this is thru the Task Manager in Windows (Ctrl+Alt+Del). Open the Network Tab & View the graph there. If you are showing a few spikes & then its Flat for a bit then repeats a similar pattern, You have a bad data flow (even a Idle connection will have constant peaks in it). Same thing if you are on a Wireless connection in the Home. Make sure your Home Wireless Router has plenty of Ventilation. A Home Router that has Overheated may appear to be OK, but will cause Data Transmission Issues. Also reset the Router if you have erratic signals.
